SS-Kindergarten Timeline Project Template

As part of the Math and Social Studies curriculum, we have been talking about how people use a timeline to shown events over time.  As part of the Social Studies curriculum, it is expected that each child completes a timeline of their life to show the past present, and future.    Please use the attached construction paper with the template with started in class.  Please use a photograph or picture in the box and include a sentence explaining what is going on in the picture using the sentence stems

“In the past, I was ___________.”

“In the present, I am ____________.”

“In the future, I will _________.”

Please have your child practice sharing their timeline at home so they are prepared to share with the class.  We are working on talking in complete sentence so your child will be expected to read (say) all 3 sentences on their paper on their own.

These projects will be due Monday, February 25th.

Thank you for your assistance with this project.  Your child will need your help but please allow them to do as much as possible (they should do the cutting, gluing, and WRITING!)  They aslo need to practice speaking for sharing their project.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Mrs. Rawson and Mrs. Fowler

Help Ecology Club Save the Oceans

Save The Oceans

The Ecology Club is supporting the removal of trash from the oceans through the work of the 4 Oceans company. By purchasing a bracelet made of 100% recycled items, they will remove of 1 pound of trash from the ocean and coastlines.

                                    What is our Goal?

Our goal is to raise 100 dollars per class which would take 60 pounds of trash from the ocean. For every 20 dollars your class raises, 1 bracelet will be purchased and then raffled off in the classroom.

Can you help us do it? Become an activist for the environment. We are asking you to return refundable cans or bottles from home to a nearby store. Did you know that every 10 cans or bottles you return to the store makes 1 dollar that can be donated towards this cause?  That money will help us reach our goal. We will be collecting money through the month of February.

Please recycle your cans and bottles at home and donate that money. Your donations will help clean our oceans!

Thank you,

Mrs. Rawson
