Math Assessment in folders graded today— way to go!!!

Great job on our first written and “interview style” math test!! It is in their folders.  On Monday, we will start module 4 so the classbook sent home today can STAY HOME.  Please finish the unfinished pages for review when you have extra time.  Tomorrow we will send home the “Homework Workbook” to STAY HOME— so please finish any unfinished homework pages by tomorrow if I sent your book home with a note tonight!  Thank you!

Homework & Reminders 3-6-19

** All sight words on ring are: I, the, can, see, like, to, look, at, come, and, a, we, go, my, in, is, has, for, are, here, you, dog, up, on, have, said, it, she and new sight words get and an new words me and went make 40. ***ALL should be memorized for reading and some should be able to spell on own AND begin using to write SENTENCES!! Practice our assessment of all 40 words is Monday, March 11.  sight words list 

 

3.READING GROUP BAG—> read NEW book 3 times remembering to point to each word as you read AND extend to asking questions such as: “Find a sight word on this page. Point to word that starts with the /s/ sound. ETC.”  Please keep alphabet linking chart and on back NEW consonants blends and digraphs in their bag– this is to help with reading and writing during reading groups and can be practiced at home as part of 15 minutes of reading each night!

4. Math workbook should be complete!!! If not, you have until TOMORROW to finish!!! On Monday, we will be starting a NEW module and have a NEW homework workbook!!!!

5. Spelling Notebook—

  • Thursday: Fun Sentences!
    • Write a sentence using one spelling word in each sentence. Make sure to include a capital letter at the beginning of your sentences, finger spaces between words and punctuation so you can get the BONUS point on your test tomorrow!!!!!!!!

March is reading month author: Maria Dismondy

We will be having the Author Maria Dismondy visit Oakman during March is Reading Month.

She will be coming on Wednesday, March 13th, 2019. She will be having a book signing!

Dismondy is a children’s book author from Michigan! She’s written Spaghetti in a Hot Dog Bun, and The Juice Box Bully. She’s had 8 award-winning books. Each one of her books has an empowering message. We are excited to have her come to Oakman!

Students will be tested next week (Monday, March 11th) over the following words.  Please practice tonight and write how many correct out of 40 they got correct with you at home.  Today at school, they practiced with their 3rd/4th grade buddy reading and then  writing (like a spelling test).  If they can read them all then start working on spelling them.  Return paper (will send home on Friday)  in their folder so we can test them at school Monday!
