Homework & Reminders 5-20-19

1. Oakman Folder- sign and return behavior calendar for MAY!!– please compete poetry homework if not done— The Little Red Hen– students must read with expression and use “special marks” to read how we talk.

** All sight words on ring are: I, the, can, see, like, to, look, at, come, and, a, we, go, my, in, is, has, for, are, here, you, dog, up, on, have, said, it, she, me, went, make, they, play, no, boy, dog, boy, girl, so, do, and NEW words was and got. 

3.READING GROUP BAG—> , re-read old books for fluency AND read NEW book 3 times remembering to point to each word as you read AND extend to asking questions such as: “Find a sight word on this page. Point to word that starts with the /s/ sound. ETC.”  Please keep alphabet linking chart and on back NEW consonants blends and digraphs in their bag– this is to help with reading and writing during reading groups and can be practiced at home as part of 15 minutes of reading each night!

4. Math Homework Workbook– Module 5, lesson 4— homework help on page 181 and DO HOMEWORK PAGE 183.

5. Spelling Notebook  ****TEST will be on THURSDAY this week!!***

Spelling-words week of May 20th

  • Monday: Rainbow Spelling!
    • Write each spelling word in pencil. Now use a crayon to trace each word in that color. Pick another color and repeat.

Our NWEA READING TEST WILL BE TOMORROW (TUESDAY, MAY 21 at 9:00AM!!!

Please send in a healthy snack for the MONTH OF MAY. We have 18 students.

We continue to collect $$$ each day for this worthy cause and to “STOMP OUT” Juvenile Diabetes!!  WEDNESDAY IS LAST DAY— we are in top 3 classes so far!!! TOP CLASS EARNS A SPECIAL ICE CREAM PARTY!!!!

NWEA READING IS TOMORROW AT 9:00, please be to school on time!! Early if you would like to eat breakfast at school!

The students have worked HARD all year and know it’s time to RELAX and show what you know on this important test!  Please talk to your child about listening and reading each question carefully, trying their best (even if its hard!!), not giving up, and working to IMPROVE their school from when the took their test in the WINTER— I highlighted that number in their folders.  Our class goal is for everyone to increase their score from the WINTER so that we can celebrate our success with a special pizza and Popsicle party!!!!!!

NWEA practice- Students may go on CLEVER and go to letter “e” to work on their “reading” path to help prepare for NWEA READING NEXT WEEK (TUESDAY)– please be aware that you will need to monitor as they do their path and assist some as it can be tricky for them to do independently.
