1. Oakman Folder- sign and return behavior calendar for OCTOBER!

2. Reading bag- NEW BOOKS ARE IN BAG!! SIGHT WORDS ARE IN THEIR BAGS— I, like, the, see, we,  go, can, she, a, and at. Practice each night to MEMORIZE THESE WORDS! ***Students will be tested over these 10 words THIS WEEK so practice each night!!**** I am doing 6 students each day and will send a note home how they did after their test!***

3. NEW READING GROUP BAG – RE-read books to be ready to WRITE about our reading tomorrow– work on letter sounds!!! (Also can you login code and password to read/listen to more books on the computer)

Please fill in log each day!!! Please use the pointer finger to put their finger under the first letter of each word as they read. Please read the book at least 3 times and sign the paper inside their bags so I know they did their job! Please send the reading bag back to school each day. GREAT JOB WITH BAGS— read same books tonight for FLUENCY! ***IF YOU HAVE FLUENCY DOWN, PARENTS PLEASE EXTEND the reading by asking questions such as:

• Find the WORD “the” on this page.
• What LETTER do you see at the beginning of the WORD?
• What LETTER do you see at the end of the WORD?
• After reading, can you RETELL what happened?? What happened in the beginning, middle, and end??

4. Math Homework- Lesson 25 homework page 103 (helper on page 101).—Make sure number formation is correct!! If not, ease and try again!! Parents please check as correct number formation is important!

Please read new poem, I LOVE CHOCOLATE, tonight and talk about the colors of highlighted concepts of print we are focusing on— green=capital/uppercase letters at beginning of sentence and title, red= punctuation marks and yellow= rhyming words!!! This Friday, October 11,  We’ll have a Parent meeting @ 9 AM. It is also a half day of school.  School will be dismissed at 11:45   Please be on time to pick up your children.

Next Wednesday, October 16^th is Late Start.  School will begin at 9:30 a.m.  Breakfast will be served at 9:00 a.m.   Please do not bring your children earlier than 9:00 a.m.
