Homework and Reminders 11-4-19

Homework— ( 4 things!!!)  ) and POEM BOOKS!

  1. Oakman Folder- sign and return behavior calendar for NOVEMBER! 

2. Reading bag- NEW BOOKS AND NEW SIGHT WORDS ARE IN THEIR BAGS— I, like, the, see, we,  go, can, she, a, at, is, was, will, he, has, on, in, and, you, and up. Practice each night to MEMORIZE THESE WORDS!* And work on using them correctly when speaking in COMPLETE SENTENCES for example: He (when talking about a boy) vs. She (when talking about a girl). And “on” like the book is “on the table.” ***NEW, I went “in” the door. The balloon is “up” in the sky.

3. READING GROUP BAG – Read and Re-read for fluency books to be ready to WRITE about our reading– work on letter sounds!!! (Also can you login code and password to read/listen to more books on the computer)

***NEW BOOKS WILL BE GIVEN ON FRIDAY— finishing assessments this week.****

Please fill in log each day!!! Please use the pointer finger to put their finger under the first letter of each word as they read. Please read the book at least 3 times and sign the paper inside their bags so I know they did their job! Please send the reading bag back to school each day. ***IF YOU HAVE FLUENCY DOWN, PARENTS PLEASE EXTEND the reading by asking questions such as:

  • Find the WORD “the” on this page.
  • What LETTER do you see at the beginning of the WORD?
  • What LETTER do you see at the end of the WORD?
  • After reading, can you RETELL what happened?? What happened in the beginning, middle, and end?

4. Math Homework- Lesson 37 Homework page 151– (helper on page 149).–PLEASE MAKE SURE COMPLETE TO YELLOW POST IN (MODLULE 2) by Wednesday, November 6! We will be starting Module 2 on Thursday, November 7th— please DO NOT WORK AHEAD! I will check the books on Wednesday! PLEASE DO NOT WORK AHEAD!!!

Time sure is flying by, it’s November already! Speaking of time, we hope you are enjoying the “extra” hour of sleep that daylight savings has gifted us with. We look forward to seeing you all well-rested in the morning.

What’s Happening at Oakman This Week?

Tuesday: No school for ALL students. Please come out and VOTE

Wednesday: School Store open in the morning

Thursday: Parent Teacher Conferences 4pm to 7pm. Please arrive on time for your scheduled conference

Reminders for tomorrow!!

Students can wear their costumes to school but please make sure they can use the bathroom by themselves! We will have our scheduled gym tomorrow so please send gym shoes in a bag if needed.

Our classroom party will be from 9:30-11:15. Parents are invited to come help with our crafts and pumpkin carving!!!!

11:15-12:00 will be a pizza party lunch in the classroom (no need to pack lunches for those who bring from home!) We are set on juice for the party but I have many parents who offered to send in a special healthy snack for lunch on Oct. 31st PLEASE see the examples below for snack ideas:

**Fresh snacks would be nice since it is a part of their lunch in addition to pizza (like fruit). I will save bagged snacks, like goldfish, cheese-its, etc. afternoon snacks)

At the end of the day students will participate in TRUCK OR TREAT put on by the PTA.
