
Homework and Reminders 11-25-19
Homework— ( 4 things!!!) PLEASE SEND IN A HEALTHY SNACK FOR NOVEMBER ASAP– we have 21 students in our class thank you! Currently we have only a few snacks! Please remember we are a peanut free classroom- thank you.
- Oakman Folder- sign and return behavior calendar for NOVEMBER!
2. Reading bag- ***25 TOTAL***NEW SIGHT WORDS ARE IN THEIR BAGS— I, like, the, see, we, go, can, she, a, at, is, was, will, he, has, on, in, and, you, up, look, it, my, to, and dog. Practice each night to MEMORIZE THESE WORDS!* And work on using them correctly when speaking in COMPLETE SENTENCES for example: He (when talking about a boy) vs. She (when talking about a girl). And “on” like the book is “on the table.” ***BEGIN WORKING ON SPELLING THESE WORDS AS THESE WILL BE SOME OF OUR FIRST SPELLING WORDS!!!!!!!!!
3. READING GROUP BAG — please read and fill in reading logs each day!!! Read and Re-read for fluency books to be ready to WRITE about our reading– work on letter sounds!!! (Also can you login code and password to read/listen to more books on the computer)
Please fill in log each day!!! Please use the pointer finger to put their finger under the first letter of each word as they read. Please read the book at least 3 times and sign the paper inside their bags so I know they did their job! Please send the reading bag back to school each day. ***IF YOU HAVE FLUENCY DOWN, PARENTS PLEASE EXTEND the reading by asking questions such as:
- Find the WORD “the” on this page.
- What LETTER do you see at the beginning of the WORD?
- What LETTER do you see at the end of the WORD?
- After reading, can you RETELL what happened?? What happened in the beginning, middle, and end?
- Over the Thanksgiving break fill out a Story Map which will be in their reading bag with their books. Please return with the signed log in their reading bags for reading groups.
4. Math Homework-MODULE 2 is complete. Please KEEP THE CLASS WORKBOOK BEING SENT HOME TODAY AT HOME!!!!
We will start Module 3 after Thanksgiving break— I am assessing the kids one-on-one today and next week describing 2D and 3D shapes.
**Poetry books were sent home today read “The Gingerbread Man” and also see their new book The Gingerbread Kid Goes to School for their libraries at home.

Read, Read, Read….
***Make sure all 4 things come back to school in backpacks!!! ***Please bring your library books back to school tomorrow, so your child can pick a new book from the library tomorrow. If you don’t return your book from last week you may not check another book.
Please join us tomorrow for Stone Soup at 2:30 in our classroom 109, please check in the office and come dine with us and we can all be thankful to share a meal together. Please let me know if you can come at 2:00 to help set up by sending me a message on remind. Thanks!!!

If they have a number on the post-it please complete the needed pages so they are complete up to MODULE 3— do not work ahead!!!!! We will start Module 3 after Thanksgiving break— please do not work ahead in the books as the homework page matches what we do in class each day. Thank you! Food Drive– last day is tomorrow (Friday)!!
We are have reached our goal of 250 and now want the goal to help more families ANNNNND win the classroom pizza party– send in some food items tomorrow (maybe soup for letter Ss ;)) to help us reach our goals!!

We took a similar “quiz today” and most students did much better!!!! (I will send them home tomorrow) <— review/discuss/correct as needed so your child is ready for the next one!!

**Poetry books were collected today but will be send home on Monday, November 25th with another NEW poem so they can practice over break!
