Homework & Reminders for the week 3-10-20

  1. Oakman Folder- sign Behavior calendar for MARCH!!!** CURRENTLY WE ARE OUT OF SNACKS— please send in for the month of MARCH ASAP***PLEASE and THANK YOU!!! 🙂 🙂 — ***Please remember to send in a healthy snack for the class (22 students). They love apples, bananas, goldfish, bars, etc— no juice or cookie please and remember we are peanut free!****
  1. Reading bag- ***45*** TOTAL NEW SIGHT WORDS ARE IN THEIR BAGS— come, for, are, said, this, one, little, play, me, here, am, do, not, who, with, I, like, the, see, we, go, can, she, a, at, is, was, will, he, has, on, in, and, you, up, look, it, my, to, dog, want, yes,have, no, and her. Practice each night to MEMORIZE THESE WORDS!
  2. READING GROUP BAG — TODAY Everyone got a new book or 2 to read three times each tonight, have someone sign when you’re finished. READ every day and focus on fluency and comprehension. To move UP reading levels students need to be able to read the words accurately and COMPREHEND (understand what I read). After reading books, please practice using the handout for the “retelling rope” see picture below!! (Don’t forget to ask your child– what was your favorite part of the story and WHY? or what did this story remind you of?) Story Retelling is KEY to comprehension!!! See if you child can tell you the follow from their books in their bag, library book, and/or NEW book from this week Duck, Duck, Dinosaur!!!

3. Math Homework MODULE 4 Book, Lesson 25 homework helper page 99 homework page 101.

4. Spelling Notebooks— ****Test IS ON FRIDAY! New words are glued in black spelling notebooks for the week.

  • Tuesday: Consonants/Vowels!
    • Write each spelling word using one color for consonants and another color for vowels. Repeat 2 times.

5. NEW library book were chose Tuesday!! Use these for minutes for reading log challenge for MARCH IS READING MONTH!!! ** 20 minutes everyday!!!***

Parent Meeting March 6, 2020

Oakman families are truly the BEST! Thank you for the great turn out at today’s meeting. We held an informative session where many important issues were discussed. We hope this was beneficial to all.

Congratulations to Mr. Ali Dgeish who was recognized for always going above and beyond in all his duties and for being a great mentor and role model to our students!
