Homework, Field Trip Info, & Pumpkin Voting

Tonight’s homework:

1. read from reading bag and practice sight words, including new word: she.

2. math- number 13.. in the box, they may use a “short cut” by writing 10 and then adding 1-2-3 more items to show 13.  The goal is for them to “count on” from 10 and recognize teens numbers as 10 + a digit.

3. math bag- practice numbers and shapes!  BRING BAGS TOMORROW AS IT IS FRIDAY so new materials can be added, thank you!

The following field trip information is also being send home in folders on yellow paper.  (If you did not turn in money and permission slip, your child cannot attend.)

Our field trip to the apple orchard  is this Friday, 10-25-13.  We will leave on the bus at around 9:30.

Some things to remember:

Coats with hoods work the best.  Hats can get lost.  It may seem too cold to go to the apple orchard, but this time of year there are fewer bees!!

We are ALL going to use the bathroom before we go.  If you think your child may not be able to wait for a long bus ride, please send a change of clothes.  We recommend the kids wear jeans, tennis shoes, and a sweatshirt.

The kids will get an apple, a doughnut and some apple cider.  They really only need a sandwich!  Please send it to school in a plastic grocery bag.

Parents that are driving, we will give you a Google map to the orchard.

If you have any questions, please ask Mrs. Rawson or Mrs. Sulecki.

Thank you for your assistance in these matters.

We are looking forward to a fun and educational trip.

Pumpkin Decorating Voting Starts TOMORROW!

Students can bring in a quarter (25 cents) for a ballad.  They will be able to vote for their favorite pumpkin in the gym after school.  This will continue all next week until the BOO BASH on Wednesday, October 30 6-7:30 when the winner will be announced!  You can vote for our cat pumpkin (or your favorite from any class)!!

As always, should you have any questions, please call the office at 827-6500. If you need to speak to someone in Arabic, ask for Nadia Dakroub.
