Tonight’s Homework:

1. Folder- comparing which is GREATER (more) and which is LESS—2 sides, look at directions at the top to know if you should circle the GREATER or LESS amount.  It would be a good idea to count the items and write the number to help you compare!

2. Reading Bags- By this time in Kindergarten, students should be able to identify ALL letters and sounds. Please PRACTICE THIS EVERY NIGHT!  Repetition (over and over and over!!) is important!! We should be reading our books and practice our sight words for 15 minutes each night as well.

3. Math Bags- Practice comparing and counting cubes and 10 frame games!

Reminders:

A letter is being sent home today about our Halloween party next Friday.  The stapled sheet is for you to fill out and return if you are able to help (time or donation of item for the party).  Thank you in advance for helping make this a memorable event for our class!

Tonight’s Homework:

1. Folder- Life cycle of the Apple worksheet.  If you have scissors, You can cut out the pictures and paste them in the boxes.  If you do not have scissors, you can color the pictures in the boxes.  There is an example on the back completed if you need help.

2. Reading Bag- All students now have one Bookroom book in their bag.   Practice the book at home. We are practicing pointing to the first letter of each word when we read- please do this at home! We are also practicing looking at the picture to help us read the story.

3. Math bags- Please continue to practice counting and comparing the cubes.  Also please practice with the 10 frame that was sent home this week.  There are games and suggestions on the back of the paper.

family movie night is TONIGHT at 4:30.

minday (and Thursdays) we have gym so please wear gym shoes or send them in your child book bag so they can change for gym.

Tonight’s Homework:

1. Folder- practice writing our 5 sight words.  They should be able to read AND write each of these words.

2. Reading Bags- Practice letters, books, and sight words.  I started giving book room books for students to practice reading at home (not all students got them yet, hopefully tomorrow).  These books belong to the school so do not lose them.  They are $5.00 if lost.

3. Math Bags- students got 10 frames today with 10 red counters to practice making numbers.  Just like when reading when making numbers you start with counters in the top left then fill top row and then return sweep at begin at bottom left and moving to the right.  There are directions for some activities/games on the back.

Reminders:

TOMORROW is FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT.  It is from 4:30-6:00 (students must go home and come back AND be accompanied by an adult–not just an older sibling).  The COST is $2.00 per person and includes a bag of popcorn.  Pizza, juice, and baked goods will be for sale.  THIS BENEFITS PTA, thanks in advance for your support.

***PTA will be having a bake sale on Friday, October 17th, please send in cookies, cupcakes, donuts, brownies, juice boxes, and please put your child’s name on it so they can get a special prize from Mrs. Dakroub.

We had a great time at the Apple Orchard today! Please ask your child what they saw, tasted, smelled, touched, and heard on our trip as we have been discusssng our 5 senses in science!

If the blue concussion paper is not signed and returned by tomorrow, your child will not be able to play in gym.

Friday there will be a movie night for PTA fundraiser.  Kids can wear their costumes, there will be a charge at  to help raiser money for our school.  I will post details tomorrow! 🙂

1. Field trip forms went home today!  Our bake sale got the cost down to $6.00 per student.  It will still be $8.00 for parents.  Please let me know MONDAY MORNING if you would like to attend as we have very limited space on the bus.  

2. Blue concussion forms went home yesterday and must be returned for students to participate in GYM.  We have gym on Monday so PLEASE BRING THEM BACK!!!

Tomorrow is Principal’s Corner Meeting at 8:50am about our school’s budget– please attend if you are able!  Bake goods will be for sale to help with our field trip cost!! The sale was a success after school today– we will find out how much the trip will cost and send permission slips home on Monday for our field trip on Wednesday (October 15th).

Flu Shots will be available for adults after the parent meeting in the gym tomorrow (10-11:30).
