Tonight’s Homework:

1. Folder: Letter Vv handwriting page and draw a picture that starts with Vv, such as violin, volcano, etc.

2. Reading Bags- keep practicing those book room books so you can get new ones!  Also, practice sight word cards nightly, new word this week: look.

3. Math Bags- have you played down on the farm yet?!? Ask your child to play with you or have them play with a friend, sibling, etc. to practice their number and counting skills in a fun way!

Reminders for the Week:

Today the Pumpkin Contest begins.  Each vote is a quarter. Pumpkins will be on display by 3:30 pm outside of the gym.

Tuesday:

Meet the Candidates at 6pm Tuesday night in the gym. How will these people best represent your child on the School Board if elected? Two Oakman students as well as 3 Fordson students will moderate the Forum. This is open to the Public.

Wednesday:

PICTURE DAY.  Order Forms will be sent home on Monday. Place your order and have the exact cash in the envelope or write a check to LifeTouch pictures.

Tomorrow is wear orange and black to school day.  It is a fund raiser, so if your child would like to contribute, please have them wear orange and black tomorrow and bring in $1.00 to donate.

Tuesday at 6:00 p.m., the candidates for the school board will be here at Oakman, in the gym.  It would be great if you could come and listen to what they have to say in order to make a decision on who to vote for to be on the school board.

Wednesday is picture day.  Envelopes will be coming home to order pictures.  Please include the exact amount as we will not be able to make change.

Friday is our Halloween Party.  Kids will put on their costumes at 1:00, we will have a parade around the school and then we will have a small party.  Please let me know if you are able to volunteer or donate items for our party.  All students can bring in individually wrapped candies to pass out to friends (they will get a goody bag to take home after the party.)

Friday morning, at 9:00, the kids will be going to the Oakman pumpkin patch.  I believe it’s $1.00 for them to choose a pumpkin to take home.

Lifetouch Studios will be at Oakman School on Wednesday October 29, 2014.

New this year: You don’t have to purchase a whole package! You can choose anything you like, an Option and/or a Package.

All students will be photographed.   All pictures have to be paid to the photographer or you can pay online by credit card and have many more choices at www.mylifetouch.com. Checks are to be made out to Lifetouch Studios.  Please bring the exact amount of cash for the purchase price of pictures as we don’t have change in the office.  Your cooperation is much appreciated.

Thank you for those that returned the slip about our class Halloween party.  We are still in need of some items, such as ghost peeps and large pumpkins.  More volunteers are always welcome too 🙂

We learned about spiders today so these were favorite too… let me know if you feel inspired and can help decorate!!! 🙂

The PTA is having a pumpkin decorating contest.  The class voted today and the following pictures were their favorite.  Please comment if you are able to help decorate our class pumpkin tomorrow, Friday, or Monday.  I do not have the supplies so please plan to bring/make supplies for the pumpkin you choose from our list of favorite.  THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!
