Tonight’s Homework:

1. Folder- Uppercase and lowercase letter matching– circle the lowercase that matches the uppercase letter

2. Reading Bag- Today our book buddies from 3rd grade helped to make sure EACH child had 10 sight words in a zip lock bag– please practice this words at home EVERY NIGHT!  you should also be practicing letters and sounds EVERY NIGHT! At this point in the school year, kindergartners sound know ALL letters and sounds!

3. Math Bag- practice addition (put together) with counting cubes and counting to 100 by 1’s, 5’s, and 10’s

Tonight’s homework:

1. Folder – handwriting paper for sight words. Students should be able to read and write all sight words.

2. Reading bag – practice reading books, letters and sounds on alphabet chart and practice all sight words on cards nightly. 15 minutes each night please.

3. Math bags – practice doing addition( put togethe) with counting cubes. Practice counting to 100 by ones, fives, and tens o 100s chart. Remember to point to the numbers as you are counting.

Reminders:

Tomorrow is a late start day.  School will start at 9:35.

Hello Parents,

Each child will be asked to pay $5 for a t-shirt with the Oakman logo to wear at our first Core Value Assembly on November 21st. These t-shirts cost the school $10 each, but
Mr. Awada is covering half the cost as a gift to each student. You child has already been sized.
We ask you to pay the other half and send $5 to the teacher to cover the cost of the t-shirt.

We are using this site in class for reading and math “games.”  They really enjoy it!  You can practice at home on ipad and/computer as well!!! HAPPY LEARNING!

Folder – letter of the week is P, practice handwriting paper And color pictures that start with the p sound.  Have them tell you their story with their pictures of how to pumpkin.

2. Reading bag – Practice letters and sounds on letter chart.  Practice book room books and paper books in bag remembering to point at the first letter of each word.  Last but not least, remember to practice sight word!!! New sighy word this week is AND.

3.  Math bag – practice counting and addition (put together!) with cubes. Work on 10 frames dor subiizing (knowing how many without counting!) Last but not least, practice counting to 100 on 100 chart. Practiced by ones fives and tens.

2. Reading Bag- students should know ALL letter names and sounds at this point in the school year, practice letters and sounds every night!  NEW BOOK, Life of a Pumpkin, they made these books with their 3rd grade buddy today and are excited to read to you at home!!

3. Math Bags- students will have a 100 chart in their bags tomorrow to practice counting to 100 by 1’s, 10’s, and 5’s.  They should point to each number as they count just like reading!

Reminders:

Friday is a HALF DAY for students, they will be dismissed at 11:45 (No lunch at school).

Friday is also last day for marking period 1- please make sure you have signed up for a conference time.
