2. Reading bag, books, sight words, and MYON

3. Math bag- measuring with cubes, (how many cubes is a pencil?)

Tomorrow we have gym, wear or bring gym shoes.

Friday is our 100th day— BRING IN YOUR PROJECTS! and our Valentine’s Party— Bring in your valentines for the class (19 students) and parents can sign up to bring a snack or Valentine’s Stickers to decorate our shoe boxes!  (PLEASE if you have extra shoe boxes at home, send them in as some students do not have them at home.)

*** Spelling week 2 letter, please practice words 5-10 minutes each night, THIS FRIDAY WILL BE A REAL SPELLING TEST!

2. Reading Bag- we are working on informational books– please make sure books are kept in reading bags and not LOST, it is a $5.00 charge for each book that is lost

3. Math Bag- using cubes to measure items at home

Tonight’s Homework:

1. Folder- letter Ww and sight words (new word on) AND spelling!!! please read the kindergarten spelling letter and let me know if you have any questions.  Practice the words a few minutes EACH night so you are ready for the test on Friday!!

2. Reading Bag- Books, MYON, and sight word cards (new card: on)

3. Math Bag- counting and comparing groups, counting to 100

Reminders:

Tomorrow we have gym.  Please send in gym shoes if your child wears boots to school.

Tomorrow we have NWEA testing for MATH.  Today we did reading and most students made a lot of improvement.  The ones who did not make an improvement in their score, rushed and did not take their time.  Please discuss with your child that this is a TEST not a computer game and they need to know what they know!!  This test is one of many pieces of information that we look at to see if they are ready for 1st grade or if they need another year of kindergarten.

Kindergarten is schedule to take the NWEA test in reading on Wednesday morning and in Math in Thursday afternoon.  Please make sure your child gets a good night of sleep and eats a healthy breakfast so they can do the best of this test.
