Homework & Reminders 12-4-15

This weekend’s homework:

  1. Folder- making 10 paper, 2 sides… use your game in the math bag for the back!  color how many red, how many yellow and write the math sentence.
  2. Reading Bag- sight words and BOOKS!! Students will be tested over their sight words before break so make you are practicing a few minutes EACH night!
  3. Math Bag- play new math games with the ten frame (Making Ten) and deck of playing cards (Comparing Numbers)

Reminders:

  1. We will be collecting can foods until Monday, December 14th.  If you are at the store this weekend, please pick up a can or box to donate.
  2. Also, we need December snacks to share with the class.  PLEASE no cookies or juice for snack— crackers, goldfish, pretzels, etc. work best.

Homework & Reminders 12-3-15

Tonight’s Homework:

  1. Folder- sight word “is” paper, 2 sides!
  2. Reading Bag- sight words and books- 15-20 minutes!
  3. Math Bag- card game to compare numbers, “which is greater?”   NEW GAME- making 10… shake 10 counters and roll… count how many red and how many yellow then make a number sentence ___ (red) + ___ (yellow) = 10.

Reminders:

  1. Tomorrow there will be popcorn and pizza for sale.
  2. Tomorrow we will be counting how many cans and boxes our class has brought in for the food drive- please send in some food with your child if you are able to do so.

  1. Folder- Letter H bag- find 3-5 items that start with the /h/ sound to bring to school to share with the class
  2. Reading bag- sight words and books
  3. Math bag- NEW MATH GAME!!  with deck of cards to play “war” and compare numbers… follow directions on paper, students should know as we practiced game 2 times today!

Reminders:

  1. We are collecting food for the hungry- please donate!!
  2. PLEASE read the December newsletter to stay up to date on what we are doing in class.  It is important that you TALK with your child about what they are learning in school each day.

Homework & Reminders 11-30-15

Tonight’s Homework:

  1. Folder- letter F paper (2 sides)
  2. Reading Bag- sight words and read books– remember to ask your child about the characters–“Who are the characters in the story?”  “The characters are ____.”
  3. Math Bag- we learned a new game today for comparing numbers using cards– ask your child how to play and PLAY WITH THEM!!

Reminders:

  1. We are still collecting food for the hungry–please send some in if you can!
  2. Tomorrow is DECEMBER-  I can’t believe it!!   Please send in a December snack for the class to share in the next week or so!

Homework & Reminders 11-20-15

This weekend’s homework:

  1. Folder- Thanksgiving tallying fun paper
  2. Reading Bag- sight words, books, and ABCs–15 minutes EACH night
  3. Math Bag- count to 100 by 1s and 10s and write numbers 0-10

Reminders:

  1. Tonight is movie night at 4:00!  Students MUST attend with an adult.  It is $2.00 per person which includes popcorn!
  2. Next week is a short week with school ONLY ON MONDAY AND TUESDAY.  We will continue collecting canned foods.
  3. We will also be making STONE SOUP on Tuesday.  Please see sign up sheet and bring an item to help us make stone soup.

Pajama Day And Movie Night Are Tomorrow

Pajama Day is Friday Nov 20th.  Bring in $1.00 to wear your pajamas all day.

MOVIE

WHEN: FRIDAY November 20th

WHERE:  OAKMAN ELEMENTARY GYM

TIME:  4:00-6:00 All children must be accompanied by an adult

COST: $2.00 per person and includes a bag of popcorn.

Reminder:  We will be having a Bake Sale on Nov 19th. Please send in cookies, cupcakes, doughnuts, brownies, juice, etc.

  3. Tomorrow’s lunch choices will be shrimp poppers or peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
