This Weekend’s Homework:

1. Folder-shape sort, cut, paste, and sort the shapes… the CHILDREN need to cut out the shapes and practice their cutting, it is THEIR homework not parents 🙂
2. Reading Bag- NEW DIGRAPH chart– they should practice this daily just like sight words, and books! To practice the digraphs, they should go c-h (ch sound) chick, w-h (wh sound), t-h (th sound) three, s-h (sh sound) sheep, and last p-h (f sound) photograph as we practice during read to self time today.
3. Math Bag- play math games– making 10 with red and yellow counters, card game “war” for comparing numbers (which is greater?), and dice game- roll, write, and draw the dots to show the quantity on the dice— NEW practice reading their shapes book and naming 2D and 3D shapes they see at home and out and about, for example at the store or park!
4. POEM BOOK- please read ALL poems with your child and return book on Monday so we can add more poems- thank you.

Reminders:

1. Please send in a January snack for the class to share.  We have 18 students in the class.  We only have a few crackers and will not be able to continue morning and afternoon snack if parents do not send in items.
2. Mark your calendars for NEXT FRIDAY (January 15th) there will be a Parent Technology Workshop at 2pm in the computer lab.

Happy New Year!!

Today the children may be really tired due to the long break.  Please make sure they go to bed early tonight to get back on schedule.

Tonight’s Homework:

1. Folder-Fill up your K bag with 3 to 5 items that begin with the letter k. Return to school tomorrow to share.
2. Reading Bag- sight words and books!
3. Math Bag- play math games

Reminders:

1. Please send in a January snack for the class to share.  We have 17 students in the class.
2. Rest time will be shorter from now on, so no blankets or pillows.
3. If you have not sent back your poem book, bring it tomorrow so we can add more poems!!

Please work on homework packet over break, visit learning websites from packet at home or at the Dearborn public library!  Read and point to the words in poem book- homework packet and poem books must be returned on Monday, January 4th.

1. TONIGHT, December 17th is HOLIDAY MOVIE NIGHT at 4PM in the GYM ($2.00 to enter and you get popcorn).
2. TOMORROW we will have a class party beginning at 1:45.  Please see the sign up sheet posted in the hallway for items needed for the party.  If you would like to help set up, please come at 1:15.  Thank you!!!
3. TOMORROW students may wear their pajamas to school and bring a pillow and blanket to watch the POLAR EXPRESS with their kindergarten friends.
