Hello Parents,

Join us this Friday, April 29^th at 9am in the cafeteria  for our next parent meeting with ACCESS. Session 2 will be about another important topic affecting our community and children. More and more we hear about high schoolers and young adults abusing prescription and/or illegal substances.  This affects all of us as a community. Join us for some great discussion even if your children are young, consider your relatives, neighbors and community affected by this subject.

              انتم مدعون الى اجتماع مهم جدا نهار الجمعة 29 نيسان\ابريل الساعة 9 صباحا في قاعة الكافيتريا (مدرسة أوكمن) مع موظفين من المركز العربي حيث يتم في هذا الجزء بحث مواضيع مهمة تتعلق بالابناء والمجتمع.  كما اننا نسمع في الاوان الاخيرة عن الشباب واستعمال الادوية وغيرها من العقاقير المخدرة والغير قانونية. يؤثر هذا الموضوع على كافة افراد المجتمع وان كان اولادكم لا يزالون صغار ولكن تستطيع تنبيه وارشاد ومساعدة الاقرباء ,الجيران والاصدقاء ويكون لديك الوعي الكافي للتعامل مع ابنائك في المستقبل.

Friday: Dentists will be returning to fix the cavities ONLY of children chosen from our Brightsmiles program in February.

ACCESS Parent Session #2 at 9 am in the cafeteria. A great problem in our community affects your relatives and neighbors too. Come and listen to this community epidemic on substance abuse. The entire session will be translated into Arabic as well. 

MOVIE NIGHT at 4pm   THE GOOD DINOSAUR!  $2 to enter includes a bag of popcorn. Pizza and baked goods for sale too

Thursday: Bake Sale. We have had very poor participation for the bake sale this year. In order to support our wonderful PTA and all the things needed for students CONSIDER SENDING COOKIES, NON-FROSTED CUPCAKES,  MUFFINS, MAAMOOL OR SFOOF AND JUICEBOXES for our PTA to sell and make a profit from. If you give a dollar for your child to buy something also send a tray of something for them to sell! Help them out!

Hello Parents,

Our school has been challenged by Whitmore Bolles  to a PENNY WAR! The penny war will support the nonprofit charity I.G.Y.B´s (I’ ve Got Your Backs). The charity was created in memory of the late Isaac Lougdhrige. The mission of I.G.Y.B.s is to Educate, Impact, and Inspire Hope to Youth in Need.. The Penny War will begin on Monday, April 25th and end on May 9th. The goal is to make the least amount of money for your class, but the most for our school. Each class will have a milk jug designated for the collection of change.  Students will want to bring in pennies (copper) to fill their own classroom jug, but bring in silver coins to add to other classrooms’ jugs.  When we get competitive and bring in silver coins to fill each other’s jugs, this is how we can beat Oakman and win the PENNY WAR! Once money goes into a jug, it can not be taken out. Bring your coins!!!

Spring Picture Day

This Thursday, April 21^st is Spring Picture Day. Pictures will be taken at Oakman School by Lifetouch photographers.

Payments can be paid in cash, (please make sure you have the exact amount, because the office cannot make change).  If you choose to pay by check it must be made out to LIFETOUCH.

Your cooperation in this matter is deeply appreciated.

Remember forms and payments have to accompany the student Thursday morning.

Please put the child’s name, teacher and phone number on the form in the purple box.

Options

1. Choose a package     A to F     AND  add H to O if you like
2. OR Choose no package and just individual pictures from H to O
3. Mark in the quantity
4. Mark in the total
5. Send exact cash or check made to Lifetouch

Please follow these directions carefully or orders may be returned.
