Homework & Reminders 10-10-16

Tonight’s homework:

1. Folder- letter Pp bag, bring in 3-5 items from home that start with the /p/ sound, as in pumpkin, pizza, pig, etc.

2. Reading bag- practice name puzzle, ABC letters/sounds, read books and practice green sight word cards, including new word “a”

3. Math bag- practice counting by 1’s and 10’s to 100 using chart and counting songs on YouTube (search count to 100!)

please send in an October snack to share with the class.  We have 29 students.

This weekend’s homework:

READING BAG and MATH BAG activties!! Please pratice books, sight words, ABC letter naming/sounds and working on writing names and naming all the letters in FIRST AND LAST NAMES– do name puzzles!! great practice!

Reminders:

WEAR PINK ON MONDAY for OCTOBER BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH!

Tonight’s Homework:

**We had a fire safety assembly today– please ask you child what their homework is from the fire fighters!! 😉  (See previous post!)

  1. Folder- Please take out ALL papers except the OCTOBER BEHAVIOR CALENDAR
  2. Reading Bag- read books, practice sight words, ABC chart for letter names and sounds, AND work on naming all the letters in name and writing name
  3. Math Bag- practice counting by 1s to 25 and by 10s to 100 using chart  ***THIS IS HOMEWORK EVERY NIGHT!!!!  Just because they are not getting a paper to do at home does not mean they have no homework, the activities in their reading bag and math ARE their homework,***

Reminders:

TOMORROW THERE IS AN INFORMAL MEETING FOR ALL KINDERGARTEN PARENTS AT 3PM IN THE CAFETERIA.  IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU ATTEND THIS MEETING BECAUSE THERE ARE SEVERAL ISSUES THAT WILL BE DISCUSSED.  —MR. ABU-RUS, PRINCIPAL

Tomorrow we have gym again, wear gym shoes!

Popcorn sale collection will be TOMORROW MORNING (50 cents a bag)!  **LAST CALL!!**

Homework & Reminders 10-3-16

Tonight’s Homework:

  1. Folder- Ss bag!
    Today we talked about the letter Ss and its /s/ sound, like in sandwich, soccer, snowball, etc. Please find 3-5 items at home that start with the s sound and put them in a bag for your child to share in class this week.
  2. Reading Bag- Today students got 3 NEW books to practice reading at home. *Remember there are 3 ways to read a book!!! 1. Read the PICTURES! 2. Read the WORDS! 3. Retell the story.   Today students also got a ring with 3 green sight word cards on it  (the, to, I) Students need to also work ON THEIR NAME PUZZLE!  They need to be able to put them in order and NAME EACH LETTER.
  3. Math Bag- practice counting by 1’s to 50.  Practice counting by 10’s to 100 using the chart in your bag.

Reminders:

Tomorrow’s lunch is :”Sack n go” Yogurt, crackers, string cheese, a fresh fruit and carrots.
MONDAY: Burn Drive Fundraiser Begins. Each child is asked to send in $1 or more to donate to the FireFighters Burn Drive. In the past the Dearborn Firefighters have helped Oakman Families and it is our turn to give back. Please send your donation to your child’s teacher and make sure to wear red on Thursday for the school wide photo and presentation of the check.

TUESDAY:  pizza sale pm, Get your white anti bullying t shirt in time for Wednesday’s assembly from the PTA.

WEDNESDAY: Stronger Than a Bully Assembly at 1:15 for k-2 and 2:15 for 2-5.

THURSDAY: WEAR RED TO SCHOOL DAY AND DONATE $1 OR MORE TO CHARITY!  Fire Safety presentation for k-2 at 9:50 am in the gym. School wide photo for all staff and students at 10:30am outside with the firetrucks.

FRIDAY: Popcorn sale am. Come help the ladies pop the corn for the kids.
