Parent Computer Meeting— can help you log into MYON and MOBY MAX!

Hello Parents,

It is time for our Parent Computer Workshop. Please join us this Friday, January 27th at 8:55am in the computer lab UPSTAIRS near the library. You will learn new computer skills, how to access the teacher and school website, and how to increase your child’s academic success with online websites. You will also learn advanced skills like creating an email, using Google, blocking dangerous sites and knowing video game ratings.  This is a great class for parents.

Each adult will have their own computer to work on. No children or strollers permitted in the computer lab.

Homework & Reminders 1-25-17

Tonight’s Homework:

  1. Folder-Please sign behavior calendars! NO NWEA testing tomorrow (Thursday or Friday- I have to be out for a funeral.  Monday I have a district training, so we will finish testing on TUESDAY 1/31–schedule will be sent home Monday as a reminder).
  2.  *We talked about VOWELS again today… ASK your child, “What makes Vowels special??”  (They should know— they have 2 sounds AND every word has at least 1 vowel in it) A-E-I-O-U and sometimes Y!   Here is a link to a new song we learned: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TjcT7Gto3U   (it is called vowels have 2 sounds)
  3. Reading Bag- new sight words *COME* and *MAKE* practice all sight words and ALL books!
  4.  Math Bag- work on counting to 100 by 1s, 5s, and 10s… YOUTUBE, count by 1 or count by 5s, or count by 10s to 100 for some good songs to practice.— 10 frame game with counters— please ask your child about the new game we learned today— directions are on the back of the paper if needed! 🙂   ALSO practice naming 2D and 3D shapes by READING your SHAPES BOOK! We have a new game in our math bags: compare numbers which is greater when playing war gets to collect the cards.  The player with the most cards wins at the end.

Did you get your $5 PTA membership in? 

The class with the most participation wins a pizza party and extra recess time!

 Monkey Raffle all week long. Winner of a huge stuffed monkey will be announced next week on Tuesday the 31st. Tickets are $1 each in the office and after school.  January birthdays are displayed on the tv in each classroom. Come have your picture taken by Mrs. Dakroub.

 

 

Thursday:  GYM wear or bring your gym shoes

Friday:  1/2 day.  Students are dismissed at 11:45 am. 

 End of the 2nd card marking.

Snack Today…..

Good Morning Parents!  On Fridays, the school no longer provides a snack for students.  We have no more left from when parents were bringing them in at the beginning of the school year.  SOOOO today we have no snack UNLESS someone can donate a class snack before 1:00!  If you are able to bring in a HEALTHY snack for our class (24 students), please drop it at the office and Ms. Amged will make sure we get it for snack today!!  Please no cookies, chips, or juice!  Goldfish, pretzels, Cheese-Its, etc. work best!  THANK YOU!

After the meeting the PTA and parents will meet at ASC  TO SUPPORT PUBLIC EDUCATION. This will begin at 9:45 am.
