Tonight’s Homework:

1. Folder- sigh behavior calendar ***Please so MATH WORKBOOK PAGES 261-262 and put in folder for me to see tomorrow!!***  Letter Ii bag— bring 3-5 things for letter Ii to share this week!  If you can’t do it tonight, bring it by Wednesday!
2. Reading bag – practice sight words and reading books (GO ON MYON for new books!)
3. Math bag- read shapes book practice counting to 100 (WORK ON 100th day poster project—due THIS FRIDAY!!!) —GO ON MOBY MAX for more math practice!
4. Spelling Notebook— see spelling letter sent home in folders today for this weeks words: me, we, he, can, man PLUS 2 MORE WORDS FROM THE -AN FAMILY, write each word 3 times in your notebook for spelling practice tonight

Reminders:

Tuesday: Valentine’s Day…. we will have a class party at 2:00 if parents would like to join to help with a math graphing activity and then passing out valentine’s cards and treats at 2:30.

Candygrams are distributed. Pizza pm

Wednesday: Late Start!   MATH-A-THON in the afternoon for grades 1-5.

SKATE party at Lincoln Park Skating Center with Oakman Staff.

The bus will arrive at 4:15. Only children grades 2-5 will ride the bus and there are only 5 spots left! See Ms. Amged. The rest of the students will meet us there at 4:30 with their parents.

Children will buy concessions at the rink. Menu is attached. We will be back between 6:30 and 7pm. Parents can meet us on Orchard for student pick up. NO ELECTRONICS ALLOWED on the bus.

Thursday:
***Kindergarten will celebrate 100th day on FRIDAY***

Friday:  CORE VALUE ASSEMBLY 9:30  for  pre k to 2 and 10:15 for 3-5th grade.  The awards will be November and December Students of the Month, Bucketfillers, Math Masters Term II,  Winter NWEA top scorers. 

100th day celebration in the PM… parents are welcome to join us beginning at 1:30 for math games and counting fun!!

Valentine’s Day Celebration –Tuesday, February. 14th

100^th Day Party – Friday, February 11th.

100^th day project Posters!  Due on Thursday, February 11th. 

Items in the past have included but were not limited to: toothpicks, cotton balls, paper clips, stickers, cereal pieces, dots, pictures, etc.—be creative!!  Have fun!!  We will take all of the creations and create a 100 museum for all the children to take a tour through.  Please be sure that your child’s name is on their poster board so that it may be returned.  Please ask your child to count out the items by ones, fives, AND tens.  Your child should be doing the creating, gluing and counting with your assistance ONLY if necessary.  This is a hands-on project for your child.

We will decorate bags at school for Valentine’s- please do NOT send in boxes.  We have 18 students in our class.  Students need to WRITE THEIR NAME (from) on their cards that they would like to pass out to the class.  PLEASE limit the candy (we are learning about dental health!), instead if you would like to send in a small toy or gift for the children to pass out with their cards, you may.

If you are interested in bringing in a special HEALTHY Valentine’s snack please let me know. Also, if you can donate fruit loops for our 100^th day necklaces please let me know (we will need 2 boxes).

This should be a fun day for the children.  They’ve been practicing counting to 100 so this will be a fun way to celebrate their efforts!  If you have any questions please let us know.

الاحتفال بمرور مئة يوم في المدرسة وعيد الحب

يجب تسليم واحضار المشاريع نهار الخميس 11 شباط\فبراير

نقوم بالاحتفال بمرور مئة يوم من العام الدراسي وعيد الحب وذلك نهار الخميس 11 شباط\فبراير. يستطيع الاولاد  استعمال  العديد من الاشياء للمشروع الخاص ب 100 شئ او غرض مثل قطع القطن, القش الصغير, طوابع, سيريل,… نقوم بعرض جميع المشاريع لكي نتيح الفرصة لجميع التلاميذ في المدرسة لرؤيتهم. كما انه يجب ان يكتب التلاميذ اسمائهم على المشروع . شجع ولدك ان يعد الاشياء ب2, 5, 10 وكذلك ب1. يجب ان يقوم الولد بالعمل والعد لوحده والمساعدة عند الضرورة فقط.

سوف نقوم بتزيين اكياس خاصة بعيد الحب الرجاء عدم ارسال العلب. كما نرجو عدم ارسال السكاكر والحلوى حيث اننا نتعلم عن اهمية العناية بالاسنان. تستطيعون ارسال لعبة صغيرة.

اذا رغب الاهل احضار وجبة خفيفة ارجو اخباري بذلك او التبرع بحبوب السيريل الدائرية الشكل لصنع عقود للاولاد.

اتمنى ان يكون يوما ممتعا للاولاد حيث امضينا الكثير من الوقت في العد للمئة لذلك هذه طريقة ممتعة للاحتفال ومكافأتهم. للمزيد من الاسئلة الرجاء الاتصال بي.

2.  Reading Bag- practice all sight words, new word today, “blue”  read books— we have been practicing the strategy of pointing to the first letter, when you come to a word you don’t know make the sound and look at the picture for a clue….FOR EXAMPLE:  I see a  c___?  look at picture of a cat and figure out the word CAT!  YESTERDAY we PRACTICED login into computers using numbers on reading bags to go on websites— GO ON MYON to listen to all kinds of books!!! This is a great way to learn vocabulary for NWEA!
3. Math Bag- we are doing Geometry in math!  Practice reading your shape books!  ALSO GO ON MOBY MAX for lots of great math practice!
4. SPELLING NOTEBOOK– no spelling homework!! Very proud of how they did on their FIRST spelling test! It was sent home today with all their mail!

Report cards were sent home yesterday in an envelope.  PLEASE keep the report card and NWEA report at home and RETURN THE SIGNED ENVELOPE TO SCHOOL!

Monday is the last day to purchase valentines day candy grams, $1.00 each!
