Tonight’s Homework:

  1. Folder- sign behavior calendar, letter u bag, and spelling words  each in notebook, constants blue and vowels in red
  2. Reading bag- Practice sight words… 2 NEW words added today for this week “play” and “yes”— Tomorrow students will do a practice sight word assessment with their book buddy which will be sent home tomorrow.  I will test them on Thursday and Friday over ALL sight Words and Geometry shapes.
  3. Image result for basic geometric shapes and names
  4. Math bag- we are doing ADDITION!!   Make a picture/story of a problem on paper to share with the class.  For example, I went to the store and bought 2 lollipops.   My friend gave me 2 more so now I have 4 lollipops!— draw a picture to match!  *Extra math practice pages were  sent home today.. check folders for math pages comparing within 10 (directions on the bottom of each page)
  5. Spelling Notebook–  SPELLING WORDS FOR THE WEEK- 1. like  2. look 3. can 4. pig 5. big (and 2 more from the -ig family, such as wig, zig, jig, fig, dig, etc .)  constants blue and vowels in red

***March is reading month– please pick a day/time to come in and read to our class!!!! THERE IS A SIGN UP SHEET OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM.  They love so much when mom or dad, older brother/sister… anyone they know! comes and read to the class!! Please bring in a special book to read to the class at your scheduled time!

*****I am in need of parent help during Daily 5 time for reading groups and helping students log in on the computers for MYON… I am hoping to have 4 parents come in twice a week for an hour 9:30-10:30… please let me know if there is a day of the week you can come in and help our class READ!!!*******

Dearborn’s Got Talent!

-City wide event on March 9 will showcase only the best in high school talent

Talented high school students from across Dearborn will compete for top honors at the third annual “Dearborn’s Got Talent!” show on Thursday, March 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn.

Tickets for general admission seating are on sale now at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center Box Office. Prices in advance are $5 cash, $8 credit card. Prices on March 9 are $7 cash, $10 credit card. For Box Office hours or to purchase tickets with a credit card online, call (313) 943-2354.

  2. Reading bag- Practice sight words… 2 NEW words added today for this week “in” and “not”— Next week (STARTING MONDAY) we have a sight word assessment coming so remember to practice EACH Night!  SEE PINK PAPER! Read books and GO ON MYON for more listen to reading!— please let me know if you are having trouble logging in online–Mrs. McMann can come to your house to help!
  3. Math bag- we are doing ADDITION!!   Make a picture/story of a problem on paper to share with the class.  For example, I went to the store and bought 2 lollipops.   My friend gave me 2 more so now I have 4 lollipops!— draw a picture to match!
  4. POEM/Spelling Notebook–  Read NEW poem for letter o and add words on the lines that have a short o in the middle, such as dog, log, jog, pot, hot, etc.

  2. Reading bag- Practice sight words… 2 NEW words added today for this week “in” and “not”— if you did not do your sight word practice assessment over break… do it TONIGHT!!! Next week we have a sight word assessment coming so remember to practice EACH Night!  SEE PINK PAPER! Read books and GO ON MYON for more listen to reading!
  3. Math bag- we are starting ADDITION!! Please do pages 123-124 in the MATH WORKBOOK TONIGHT —PUT THIS PAGE IN YOUR FOLDER FOR ME TO SEE TOMORROW!
  4. Spelling Notebook:  use your spelling word in a sentence and do a PRACTICE SPELLING TEST!
