This Breaks’s Homework:

  1. Folder- sign behavior calendar—*MATH WORKBOOK COMPLETE UNIT 4 OPERATIONS AND ALGEBRAIC THINKING (Addition and Subtraction)   p.119-173!!  Complete any that we have not already did— directions are at the bottom of each page.  When we return from break, we will do a quick review of addition and subtraction and then have an assessment to see what they know so be sure to PRACTICE AT HOME ESPECIALLY OVER BREAK!
  2. Reading Bag- practice BLENDS and sight words (NEW words this week: “will” and “dog”)  ***Make sure you LISTEN TO READING on MYON for at least 20 MINUTES, top 3 students to have lunch with me at the end of APRIL!!!!! Please read the NEW books in reading bags as well!!! I will ask students to READ them to me after break so make sure to practice and point to EACH word as you read.  The books have LOTS of sight words and then use the picture and letter/sounds to figure out the tricky ones!!!
  3. Math Bag- use 100 chart to practice counting and writing numbers… students should be able to count to 100 ON THEIR OWN by the end of the year!  Use the yellow sheet to practice addition and subtraction with objects — Addition is put together and Subtraction is take away!! You can use dry erase markers to write on the 100 chart and yellow sheet to practice writing numbers with correct formation.
  4. Spelling/Poem Book- practice reading your poems in your book!

Tonight’s Homework:

  1. Folder- sign behavior calendar—*MATH WORKBOOK SUBTRACTION PAGE 157 (family letter) and 158 (activity)  DO PAGES 161-162… put in folders for me to Check TOMORROW!!!  Today we sent home LOTS of papers and “cleaned out our mailboxes and table baskets.  Included in the paper is a book of ADDITION and SUBTRACTION.  Some of the pages we have done in class, others they can do AT HOME NEXT WEEK when we are off to practice.  When we return from break, we will do a quick review of addition and subtraction and then have an assessment to see what they know so be sure to PRACTICE AT HOME ESPECIALLY OVER BREAK!

Neriman with almost 7 hours of MYON minutes this month, Retaj and Shahzanan both with over 5 hours!!!! WAY TO GO GIRLS!!! There was also a special Raffle announced with more winners from our class that will get a special surprise tomorrow from the Cat in the Hat!!

It’s Kindergarten Round Up and Preschool Time! This Friday at 9am in the gym

Dear Parents:

According to our census reports, you have a child who will be five years old on or before September 1st of this year.  Since you live in the Oakman School attendance area, we assume your child will attend our kindergarten in September.  If for some reason your child will NOT be entering Oakman School this September, please call our office at 313-827-6500, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

If your child is born before December 1st, 2012, there is a waiver you can fill out for your child to attend school this year.  It must be filled out before the end of the school year June, 2017.  We will have the waivers at the meeting.

The Kindergarten Round-Up informational meeting at Oakman School will be on Friday, March 31 at 9:00 AM  in the cafeteria.  Kindergarten packets will be distributed at the meeting.  Parents need to fill out all paperwork and complete the registration process by making an appointment with the school office.  We will start taking appointments beginning March 31, 2017 (if you have all the documents  that are needed).  You must call and make an appointment. We will not take walk-ins.

When you come to the registration appointment, you must provide the following information,

!.  A certified copy of your child’s birth certificate.

  1. Michcon gas or electric bill, a rental/lease agreement or closing statement/title on your home. Also, bring the completed forms included in the Kindergarten packet to the appointment.

الى الاهالي واولياء الامور,

وفقا للسجلات القانونية فان ولدكم يبلغ الخامسة قبل 1 ايلول\سبتمبر من هذا العام وبما انكم تعيشون في محيط مدرسة أوكمن نتوقع بان تقوموا بارسال التلميذ الى مدرسة أوكمن. اما اذا كان هناك من سبب لعدم ارسال الولد الى مدرستنا الرجاء ابلاغ الادارة.

اذا كان ولدكم مولود قبل 1 كانون الاول, 2012 يجب املاء استمارة لكي يستطيع التلميذ الحضور وبدء الدراسة هذا العام.

لقد تم تحديد موعد دورة التسجيل لتلاميذ صف التمهيدي وذلك نهار الجمعة 18 اذار\مارس, 2017 الساعة التاسعة صباحا في قاعة الكافيتريا في مدرسة اوكمن. نتمنى ان تكون هذه الخطوة الاولى ممتعة لكافة افراد الاسرة.

هناك العديد من الخطوات التي يستطيع الاهل القيام بها قبل بدء العام الدراسي لتحضير الاولاد لهذه المرحلة. .تنتهز الهيئة التعليمية في المدرسة الفرصة من خلال هذه الدورة لبحث ومناقشة القوانين والاوراق المطلوبة للتسجيل. يبدأ التسجيل بتحديد موعد اولا ابتداء من 31 اذار\مارس 2017.

يجب على الاهل احضار ما يلي:

  1. وثيقة ولادة للطفل.
  2. فاتورة الكهرباء, ورقة اجارة او ورقة ملكية. كذلك املاء الاوراق واحضارها كاملة الى الموعد.

Literacy Night Is Tomorrow!
Join your children after school and have some fun with the teachers!

Dr. Suess Literacy Night

Who: To all Oakman Families

When: Monday, March 27th, 2017 from 3:55-5:30pm

Why: Our Family Literacy Night is your opportunity to share the joy of reading at school with your children. We invite you to participate as a family unit, in several activities during the course of the evening.

What to expect: There will be a variety of activities you and your family can choose from. Join the staff for a super night of reading and writing activities!

-At all times children must be accompanied by an adult.

-There will be raffle tickets sold for $1.00 to win a basket full of surprises.

Pizza , cupcakes, baked goods and nachos will be sold at 5:15 by the PTA.
Sams Club will be here. You can buy a membership to this warehouse for $40 and use your Bridgecard to make purchases inside. No other warehouse let’s you do this so take advantage of this opportunity and sign up.

See you Monday at 3:55!!!!!

الى عائلات مدرسة اوكمن،

زمن الاحتفال: الاثنين في 27 اذار/مارس من الساعة 3:55 الى 5:30 مساءً

الهدف من هذا الاحتفال: الاستمتاع بالقراءة مع اولادكم من خلال ليلة القراءة في اوكمن لذلك ندعو الجميع الى الحضور مع عائلاتهم للمشاركة في العديد من النشاطات

التكلفة: $1 للاشتراك في السحب.. يجب على الاهل اصطحاب الاولاد او شخص راشد.

كما ستباع البتزا, الحلويات, الكعك, في الكافيتريا, وربح العديد من الكتب.

يكنكم ايضاً شراء عضوية في “مستودع سامس” مقابل 40 دولارا واستخدام البريدجيكارد لشراء ما تحتاجونه من هذا المستودع..
نأمل أن نراكم يوم الاثنين في 3:55 !!!!!
