Program at Henry Ford College
There is no better way to build early literacy skills than to involve
the whole family! Supporting language, literacy and reading
development of young children are the responsibilities of parents,
teachers, and the community.
The Children and Families Program is excited to host our 3rd
annual family literacy event. Families are encouraged to join us for
a fun, exciting and educational morning filled with lots of fun
things for little ones to do! Children will have fun while they are
learning and parents will leave with creative ideas to enhance their
children’s literacy skills at home.
NO COST TO ATTEND! FREE BOOK AND LITERACY PACK FOR
EACH CHILD AGES 1-8 YEARS

2. Reading Bag- Please read ALL books in your bag, especially reading group books! Practice ALL 45 sight word cards including NEW word “one.”
3. Math Bag– Practice addition (put together) and subtraction (take away) with simple stories at home.

3. Math Bag– Practice using 100 chart to count to 100 by 1’s, 5’s, and 10’s. Try without chart! Try in a song! Try writing numbers! (MIX IT UP! MAKE IT FUN!) Check out our new homemade rekenrek to add and subtract to 20.
5. Green Math Work Book for MODULE 4— please make sure pages up to 31 are completed. (No new homework assigned today– many students are missing pages.) Please do not work ahead in workbook.
