Homework & Reminders 9-18-18

  1. Oakman Folder- Sign and return behavior calendar for September— parents please initial next to the circle for today (September 18th).  **Letter Bb bag! Yesterdaywe talked about the letter Bb and its /b/ sound, like in ball, boy, banana etc. Please find 3-5 items at home that start with the b sound and put them in this bag for your child to share in class tomorrow if they did not do it today.
  2. Reading/Math Bag-Please take 15 minutes to “read” the early readers in your child’s bag.  Remember there are 3 ways to “read” a book!  Also, practice counting using the 100s chart (point to each number as you count). Use your NEW pointer finger to read and/or count the words on each page.

     Also, practice sight words: NEW word “can” “the” and “I” on ring and find in books!!! *They should memorize these words and know them by sight.

  3. Math- green workbook read page 38 together and then complete Lesson 9 page 39 in workbook don’t tear it out leave it in the workbook and return to school tomorrow.  

  4. ***For those familiar with CLEVER and our online learning tools, please use your child’s username (blue number) and password (red number on back of card) to begin using online learning… I have a link to ABCya games on my page (this is what we are using in class to start). ***

Step by Step directions will be sent home soon so students can begin using online learning tools as part of their homework time.

Greetings Oakman Families,

We all had a busy yet exciting week. It was great to see everyone during Open House and watch our student’s excitement as they showed their parents their new classroom. Thank you to all the families who joined our PTA this year. The PTA will start to have regular meetings and events soon and will need all our support. If you wish to join, please see Mrs. Amjed or any staff member.

This week, NWEA testing will continue.

What’s Happening at Oakman This Week?

Monday: Constitution Day, Ask your child what they learned/know about the Constitution

TOMORROW (Wednesday): Late Start. School starts at 9:30 (1 hour later than usual).

Friday: Fordson Homecoming Parade at 4:30pm

We will have NWEA testing tomorrow for READING is the morning and READING in the afternoon.  If you are able to bring in a “special HEALTHY” snack such as apple or banana, let me know!  We will test at 10:00am so I plan to give the students a small snack in the morning.
