Homework & Reminders 10-9-18
- Oakman Folder- Sign and return behavior calendar for OCTOBER— parents please initial next to the circle for today. Letter Cc bag! Yesterday we talked about the letter Cc and its /c/ sound, like in cat, cake, cow, etc. Please find 3-5 items at home that start with the c sound and put them in this bag for your child to share in class tomorrow (Last Day).
- Reading/Math Bag-Please take 15 minutes to “read” the NEW
early readers in your child’s bag. Remember there are 3 ways to “read” a book! Also, practice counting using the 100s chart (point to each number as you count).Also, practice sight words: NEW word “come”
** All sight words on ring are: I, the, can, see, like, to, look, at, come
Look for these words in books AND work on writing them if students know the, by sight (reading)! *They should memorize these words and know them by sight. Students will have a TEST over the first 10 sight words next week **List on back of October Calendar.**
- READING GROUP BAG—> **students took an NWEA screener practice test today and did not get new books but PLEASE STILL read black and white book 3 times remembering to point to each word as you read AND extend to asking questions such as: “Find a sight word on this page. Point to word that starts with the /s/ sound. ETC.” Sign reading log! and practice NAME PUZZLE if you got one. ALSO, PRACTICE SIGHT WORDS ON RING TO BE READY FOR TEST ON FRIDAY!!!!
- Math- Read over Lesson 19 homework helper on page 77 and 78 and do homework on page 79. PLEASE check that all lessons up to 19 are complete but do not go ahead.

- ***For those familiar with CLEVER and our online learning tools, please use your child’s username (blue number) and password (red number on back of card) to begin using online learning… I have a link to ABCya games on my page (this is what we are using in class to start). ***
Step by Step directions were sent home today for online learning tools— reading (blue paper) and math (***NEW light pink card).—> Keep at home for reference.
