Homework & Reminders 11-12-18

  1. Oakman Folder- Sign and return behavior calendar for November— parents please initial next to the circle for today.   Letter Ww bag!  Today we talked about the letter Ww and its /w/ sound, like in wagon, window, wet etc. Please find 3-5 items at home that start with the w sound and put them in this bag for your child to share in class tomorrow (Tuesday, November 12th).  Thank you!
  2. Reading/Math Bag-Please take 15 minutes to “read” each night and practice sight words

    ** All sight words on ring are: I, the, can, see, like, to, look, at, come, and, a, we, go, my, in, is,has– first 20 words assessment will be next week so practice each night!!!

  3. READING GROUP BAG—> read NEW black and white book 3 times remembering to point to each word as you read AND extend to asking questions such as: “Find a sight word on this page. Point to word that starts with the /s/ sound. ETC.”

     Sign reading log! 

  4. Math-Today we started geometry.  We did a partner activity to talk about and sort shapes based on attributes (size, number of sides, curved vs. straight edges, etc.)  Please talk to your child tonight about SHAPES and how they can use words to describe the shapes they see in the environment.

  6.     Please make sure ALL HOMEWORK PAGES FROM MODULE 1 ARE COMPLETED!! I checked today and some students have pages to make up (they are marked with “HW”).  If you are caught up, no pages in book just talk about SHAPES! 🙂

Canned food drive is ON!!! Please bring in cans/boxed food to donate!  We have a class goal to bring in 100 items. We are up to 10! Wednesday is the last day!

    early readers in your child’s bag.  Remember there are 3 ways to “read” a book!  Also, practice counting using the 100s chart (point to each number as you count).  Letter Ll bag!  Today we talked about the letter Ll and its /l/ sound, like in lion, leaf, log, etc. Please find 3-5 items at home that start with the l sound and put them in this bag for your child to share in class tomorrow (Friday, November 9th)  Thank you!

TONIGHT!!! Monday, November 5th is FAMILY GAME NIGHT AT OAKMAN 5:00-6:00.  Please come and see the fun games!!! Hope to see you at this fun school event!
