- Reading bag- 40 TOTAL NEW SIGHT WORDS ARE IN THEIR BAGS— come, for, are, said, this, one, little, play, me, here, am, do, not, who, with, I, like, the, see, we, go, can, she, a, at, is, was, will, he, has, on, in, and, you, up, look, it, my, to, and dog. Practice each night to MEMORIZE THESE WORDS!* TEST will be February 25-28, 2020 see practice paper in the folder.
- READING GROUP BAG — Everyone has a couple books to read over break, please read every day. READ every day and focus on fluency and comprehension. *ks will not be given every day so more focus can be on comprehension. To move UP reading levels students need to be able to read the words accurately and COMPREHEND (understand what I read). After reading books, please practice using the handout for the “retelling rope” see picture below!! (Don’t forget to ask your child– what was your favorite part of the story and WHY? or what did this story remind you of?)
3. Math Homework MODULE 4 Book, Lesson 9— homework helper is on page 39 and homework is on page 41
4. Spelling Notebook:
Create a fun sentence for each spelling word, make sure to include a capitals to begin the sentence, spaces, and ending punctuation. Please study for test tomorrow on the __et family.
5. NEW library books were chosen on Tuesday. Students can keep at home and return after Mid-Winter break (Monday, Feb. 24) and we will check out new books on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
6. Kindergarten Timeline Project directions are in the folder today. Please follow directions and return to school on Monday, February 24, to present to the class.
Reminders:
Tomorrow is dress in red and pink for Valentine’s Day!
Friday will be our Valentine’s Day Party at school. Students are asked to make 21 Valentine cards to pass to their friends (such as the picture below).
No school February 17-21, 2020 Winter Break.
