2. Reading bag- ***25 TOTAL***NEW SIGHT WORDS ARE IN THEIR BAGS— I, like, the, see, we, go, can, she, a, at, is, was, will, he, has, on, in, and, you, up, look, it, my, to, and dog. Practice each night to MEMORIZE THESE WORDS!* And work on using them correctly when speaking in COMPLETE SENTENCES for example: He (when talking about a boy) vs. She (when talking about a girl). And “on” like the book is “on the table.” ***BEGIN WORKING ON SPELLING THESE WORDS AS THESE WILL BE SOME OF OUR FIRST SPELLING WORDS!!!!!!!!!
3. READING GROUP BAG — BOOKS and fill in reading logs each day!!! Read and Re-read for fluency books to be ready to WRITE about our reading– work on letter sounds!!! (Also can you login code and password to read/listen to more books on the computer)
Please fill in log each day!!! Please use the pointer finger to put their finger under the first letter of each word as they read. Please read the book at least 3 times and sign the paper inside their bags so I know they did their job! Please send the reading bag back to school each day. ***IF YOU HAVE FLUENCY DOWN, PARENTS PLEASE EXTEND the reading by asking questions such as:
- Find the WORD “the” on this page.
- What LETTER do you see at the beginning of the WORD?
- What LETTER do you see at the end of the WORD?
- After reading, can you RETELL what happened?? What happened in the beginning, middle, and end?
- Over the Thanksgiving break fill out a Story Map which will be in their reading bag with their books. Please return with the signed log in their reading bags for reading groups.
