- Oakman Folder- sign Behavior calendar for FEBRUARY!!! Please send in a class snack for the month– we now have 22 students (A new student started yesterday! Welcome Zakariya! 🙂 Please remember to start working on/thinking about AT HOME POSTER PROJECT AND PRESENTATION — Due on Tuesday, February 11th !!! Please use poster/foam board for these so we can display in the hallway! Please do not send in until Tuesday, FEBRUARY 11th so you can practice the presentation part and be as prepared as possible!!! (NEXT TUESDAY!!! note error from last post- opps!)
- Reading bag- 35 TOTAL NEW SIGHT WORDS ARE IN THEIR BAGS one, little, play, me, here, am, do, not, who, with— I, like, the, see, we, go, can, she, a, at, is, was, will, he, has, on, in, and, you, up, look, it, my, to, and dog. Practice each night to MEMORIZE THESE WORDS!* Practice spelling the words if your child can read them. Spelling will start next week!! (A letter will be sent home with words on Monday!!!)
- READING GROUP BAG — READ everyday and focus on fluency and comprehension. *If your child did not get a new book, focus on RETELLING— new books will not be given everyday so more focus can be on comprehension. To move UP reading levels students need to be able to read the words accurately and COMPREHEND (understand what I read). After reading books, please practice using the handout for the “retelling rope” see picture below!! (Don’t forget to ask your child– what was your favorite part of the story and WHY? or what did this story remind you of?)
4. NEW Math Homework MODULE 4 Book, Lesson 2— homework helper is on page 7 and homework is on page 9.

5. Spelling Notebook:
- Spelling words are glued into your child’s spelling notebook. We will have our test on Thursday, February 6, since we have no school on Friday, February 7, 2020.
- Tuesday: Consonants/Vowels!
- Write each spelling word using one color for consonants and another color for vowels. Repeat 2 times. REMEMBER VOWELS ARE a,e,i,o, and u— all the rest of the letters are consonants!
6. POEM BOOKS ARE BACK!!!!!!!! Please read/review old poems. No new one this week, just review. A NEW POEM will be added next week.
7. NEW LIBRARY BOOKS were chose today for those students who returned their books. Please read the library book to your child this week and ask them the comprehension questions for the retelling rope paper inside their reading group bag.
***Please be responsible and make sure all of these items are brought to and from school EACH DAY— great job keeping the old math MODULE 3 BOOKS at home and thanks to those who “cleaned” out folders!!! ***
