Homework— ( 4 things!!!)-plus library books!
- Oakman Folder- sign and return behavior calendar for NOVEMBER!
2. Reading bag- ***25 TOTAL***NEW SIGHT WORDS ARE IN THEIR BAGS— I, like, the, see, we, go, can, she, a, at, is, was, will, he, has, on, in, and, you, up, look, it, my, to, and dog. Practice each night to MEMORIZE THESE WORDS!* And work on using them correctly when speaking in COMPLETE SENTENCES for example: He (when talking about a boy) vs. She (when talking about a girl). And “on” like the book is “on the table.” ***BEGIN WORKING ON SPELLING THESE WORDS AS THESE WILL BE SOME OF OUR FIRST SPELLING WORDS!!!!!!!!!
3. READING GROUP BAG — please read and fill in reading logs each day!!! Read and Re-read for fluency books to be ready to WRITE about our reading– work on letter sounds!!! (Also can you login code and password to read/listen to more books on the computer or go to CLEVER and work on learning paths for READING and Math).
Please fill in log each day!!! Please use the pointer finger to put their finger under the first letter of each word as they read. Please read the book at least 3 times and sign the paper inside their bags so I know they did their job! Please send the reading bag back to school each day. ***IF YOU HAVE FLUENCY DOWN, PARENTS PLEASE EXTEND the reading by asking questions such as:
- Find the WORD “the” on this page.
- What LETTER do you see at the beginning of the WORD?
- What LETTER do you see at the end of the WORD?
- After reading, can you RETELL what happened?? What happened in the beginning, middle, and end?
4. Math Homework-MODULE 2 is complete. If your child brings their green workbook home with a smiley face on the purple post it, they have no assigned pages!! If they have a number on the post-it please complete the needed pages so they are complete up to MODULE 3— do not work ahead!!!!! We will start Module 3 after Thanksgiving break— please do not work ahead in the books as the homework page matches what we do in class each day. Thank you! I am assessing the kids one-on-one today and next week describing 2D and 3D shapes. SO NO NEW HOMEWORK ASSIGNED! 🙂
***Make sure all 4 things come back to school in backpacks!!! ***NEW LIBRARY BOOKS can stay home or come back daily but must be returned on Monday, November 25th so they can get a new book on Tuesday, November 26th before Thanksgiving break!!
