Homework 10-1-19

Homework— ( 5 things!!!)

  1. Oakman Folder- sign and return behavior calendar for OCTOBER– keep in folder all month and sign each day. Have a conversion each night about your child’s color, good and bad- learning experience!!

2. Reading bag-NEW PAPER BOOK, CAN I PLAY? Please take 15 minutes to “read” books each night we talked about three ways to read a book… *read the pictures, *. read the words, *. retell the story. and practice ABCs using chart. NEW SIGHT WORDS ARE IN THEIR BAGS— I, like, the, see, we, and go. Practice each night to MEMORIZE THESE WORDS!

3. NEW READING GROUP BAG – Please fill in log each day!!! Please use the pointer finger to put their finger under the first letter of each word as they read. Please read the book at least 3 times and sign the paper inside their bags so I know they did their job! Please send the reading bag back to school each day. GREAT JOB WITH BAGS— read same books tonight for FLUENCY! ***IF YOU HAVE FLUENCY DOWN, PARENTS PLEASE EXTEND the reading by asking questions such as:

  • Find the WORD “the” on this page.
  • What LETTER do you see at the beginning of the WORD?
  • What LETTER do you see at the end of the WORD?
  • After reading, can you RETELL what happened?? What happened in the beginning, middle, and end??

4. Math Homework Workbook NO NEW HOMEWORK ASSIGNED MAKE SURE COMPLETE UP TO— Lesson 16 homework page 67 AND 68 (helper on page 65). *I WILL CHECK TOMORROW! 🙂

5. POETRY BOOK- please read Camping Poem with your child and talk about the ending marks (period and exclamation point as well as rhyming words). Sign log and return. I will collect books on WEDNESDAY– please review old poems as well for additional practice on pointing to each word when reading.—READ AGAIN TONIGHT FOR FLUENCY and ask about why some letters are green (capital letter at beginning of sentence)… why some marks are red (ending marks) and some words in yellow *rhyming words*

***Make sure all 5 things come back to school in backpacks!!!***
