Homework & Reminders 11-1-18

  1. Oakman Folder- Sign and return behavior calendar for November— parents please initial next to the circle for today. Letter Zz bag! Yesterday we meet letter Zz  and its /z/ zebra, zipper, and zig zag etc. Please find 3-5 items at home that start with the z sound and put them in this bag for your child to share in class tomorrow (Friday, November 2, 2018) 
  2. Reading/Math Bag-Please take 15 minutes to “read” the
    early readers in your child’s bag.  Remember there are 3 ways to “read” a book!  Also, practice counting using the 100s chart (point to each number as you count).

    ** All sight words on ring are: I, the, can, see, like, to, look, at, come, and, a, we, go, my, in

  3. READING GROUP BAG—> read black and white book 3 times remembering to point to each word as you read AND extend to asking questions such as: “Find a sight word on this page. Point to word that starts with the /s/ sound. ETC.” Sign reading log! 

  4. Math- Lesson 33. Homework Helper on page 133.  Homework Page (make cards) on 135. Please read the homeworker helper page and discuss with your child and have your child do the homework page.  Please check their work, especially number formation and have them erase and fix if the formation of their numbers is incorrect.

  • **if your child is having difficulty with formation, please print the poems and reference at home—(say the poem as they write the number— this is what we do in class)
  • ***PLEASE CUT OUT and make cards.this is a great way to practice numbers 1-10 with number and quantities.  This will help them with their test next week.  One side with numbers only as show below and other side with dots as shown.

  • **STUDENTS WILL BE TESTED OVER NUMBER FORMATION 1-10 next week so practice with the poems— make sure to start at the TOP!
