Homework 10/8/2013

Tonight your child’s homework is to:

Practice their Sight Words: I, like, see, my, me,  a, the, he.

Practice writing the number 6 and drawing 6 items in the box.  For example, 6 circles or 6 flowers, etc.

Read the books in their bookbags, including the new one we made today: I Like My Family.  This week we are working on pointing to the first letter of each word when they are reading books.  If they don’t know the word, the can say the letter.  If they don’t know their letters, they can count the words.  It is very important to work on this concept of one to one as a foundation to reading.

Practice counting and naming numbers with the numbers in their math bag.  Please remember to bring math bags on Fridays as they will get new materials in their bag.

Today began MEAP testing for grades 3-5.  Please remind students of the importance of listening to their teacher and being very quiet in the hallways.  Also, please limit interruptions to the office during this time.

As always, should you have any questions, please call the office at 827-6500. If you need to speak to someone in Arabic, ask for Nadia Dakroub.

Thank you for your assistance in these matters,

Michelle Rawson
