Spring Break

April 6th – 10th Spring Break!

During this time I will not be posting assignments or checking in as often. If you have an emergency I would suggest contacting me on Class Dojo as that is linked to my phone and I am more likely to see your message.

Please take this time to relax, reflect, go outside, and do whatever you need during this stressful period in our lives. I know I will be doing the same.

Normal assignments will be posted again on Monday, April 13 so be sure to tune in for those announcements.

Have a restful break!

Parent Connection Directions

The Elementary Report Cards for Marking Period 3 are currently being processed and will be available to parents in ParentConnect, Monday April 6, 2020. Following is some information on how parents can access report cards data in MIStar ParentConnect. Please note that if you have more than one child, you should be able to see data for all your children and you do not need separate logins for the different schools (if your children attend more than one school).

How do parents login to ParentConnect? To login to ParentConnect, parents need their PIN and password; this is how it is obtained: Parents go to the Dearborn Schools’ website (dearbornschools.org) and then the ParentConnect link. If they don’t know the login info, they click the (Need Your Login Information) link and it will prompt them to enter their email address (as provided to the school and entered in MIStar), and then click Submit. This process emails them their PIN and Password. After logging in, click on the “report card marks” module.

If you need further assistance, please feel free to reach out.

Hope you are staying safe and healthy.

Remote Learning – Message to Parents

For us, as a Dearborn Public Schools community, any learning counts.  It counts whether it is a teacher in a classroom focused on required material or if a student is working more independently at home on enrichment activities.  It counts because it impacts the future success of our students, which is the most important measure there is.

Food Pick up

Parents,

We’ve got some great news to share! Zaman International will be at Dearborn High on Wednesday from 10-12:00 pm to deliver 250 boxes of food to families that may need them; the boxes feed a family of four for 1-2 weeks.

Feel free to use the south side of the building where normal breakfast and lunch pickup occurs.

Thanks Najah Bazzy and Zaman International for their generosity!

Thanks

Mr. Martin

Raz Kids

I have assigned each child a book at their level on Raz-Kids. Your child should listen, read AND do the quiz for each book. They need to be working on level up, not in the reading room.

Also, if your child is having trouble on the quiz with a specific skill for example, the author’s purpose: they can use IXL to strengthen their skill then complete the quiz. If your child does not complete all tasks, they can’t go to the next level.
