Scholastic News magazine is something that I use every Friday afternoon with our class. It comes with an incredible website that your child can use at home. I encourage you to help your child log on to the scholastic website https://www.scholastic.com/sn4 and type in the classroom password thingkite4. It’s has so many great opportunities to deepen your child’s learning.

Scholastic Book Order
This year I will be doing Scholastic book orders. This is an easy way to find books for your child’s grade and interest. Ordering online is easy by going to: https://scholastic.com/bookclubs connect to our class using our Class Code: QFWD4. Using our class code earns our class points that can be redeemed into MORE books for our classroom. As soon as your order is delivered to our classroom, I will send it home with your child. BONUS: This month, you can pick a FREE book (up to $5) when you place an online order of $25 or more!
Thank you for your support and happy reading!
Reading Response Journals
Reading response journals should have come home with your child yesterday. These will be used in place of reading logs. Your child should be reading everyday and using the journal to keep track of what they have read. Instructions were glued on the first page along with fiction and non fiction prompts. Only three sentences are required this should be an easy way for your child to reflect on their reading. As always if you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Happy reading!
Color Run
Happy Friday! Tomorrow (9/22/2018) is our color run. If you were unable to sign up online you can still come tomorrow to register and pay your $20 in person. The race starts at 8:30 am ON TIME so be sure to come early enough (around 8:15). See you there!
IXL
Today we logged onto IXL in the classroom. This is a great tool to be used at home as well. I am sending home a letter explain the benefits and how to log on as well as your child’s log in information. Also, your child has glued their log in information into their planners. IXL-Parent-Handout
