Building Temperature
The temperature in our building tends to fluctuate during the day. I would highly recommend, if possible, to have your child dress in layers to accommodate this. In the mornings it tends to be cooler in our classroom but by the end of the day it can be very hot. Also, if you want to send your child to school with a water bottle that is always okay with me.
Popcorn Sale
Next Tuesday November 20th is the first popcorn sale. Popcorn is .50 a bag with a max of 4 bags per student.
PTA Bake Sale
PTA will be having a bake sale on Friday, November 16, 2018

- Kindergarten/1st grade – cookies (individually wrapped) or chips
- 2nd/3rd grade – Cupcakes or Donuts
- 4th/5th grade – Juice Boxes/Hostess Snacks
Thank you for your donations and support
Costumes
On Wednesday, October 31st, students will be allowed to bring costumes to school. Students will not be able to wear their costumes during the morning, but may put them on in the afternoon prior to our Halloween Parade at 2:30 PM. Weather permitting, we will walk around the neighborhood of the school during the parade and then have time for class parties. Parents are welcome to participate in the parade around the neighborhood, but must check into the office first in order to obtain a visitor’s pass. If it rains the parade will be around the inside of the school.
Notes about costumes:
PLEASE DO NOT WEAR COSTUMES TO SCHOOL. Instead, bring your labeled costume in a bag, with your student’s name on it. Students will be able to change into their costumes in the afternoon. Students may NOT dress up as anything that contains inappropriate, bloody looking, or would be considered scary for younger students who may be frightened by these costumes due to images they may have seen in the media. Weapons or toys that resemble weapons are NOT permitted. Most classrooms will have their parties at 2:50 – 3:20, please check your classroom teacher’s blog for more information.
Math
Next week we will have our first math test. I know that this new program has come with its fair share of struggles, so I am uploading with this post, a link to a youtube channel that shows an actual teacher teaching our math lessons. If you and your child are struggling with this math, I urge you to check this channel out.
