Field Trip Permission slips are due tomorrow. We will be going to see “A Christmas Carol” at the Wayne State Theatre. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to experience the theater. Although the title is “A Christmas Carol” the play isn’t actually about Christmas but rather set during Christmas time. We will be gone from 9:30-12:00. I hope everyone can make it!

Parent Portal is a GREAT way for parents to see their child’s scores as I put them into gradebook. To access the portal go to the Dearborn Public Schools website https://dearbornschools.org/ click on Parent Portal https://dearbornschools.org/parent-community-portal/ and select Parent Connect https://sisweb.resa.net/ParentPortal/. You will be prompt to put in your email address and pin number/password. If you do not remember this information click on “Need your login information?” and put your email in to have the link sent to you. Spelling test have been going home graded as soon as possible. I have noticed a few things that I would like to address. Firstly, some students have been drawing on the tests and I am concerned that they are overly focused on their drawings and not on their spelling words. I will be talking about this to students in class but would appreciate your support at home. Secondly, if a student receives a failing grade of a 4 then their test is stamped with a request for you to sign and return. This is to let me know that you have seen the test and are aware of your child’s grade. I only want to keep you informed of the progress your child is making. Additionally, I would strongly suggest using the parent portal to keep up to date on the scores your child is receiving.

We opened our last box of tissues today. If you have an extra box at home please consider donating to our classroom. Thank you!

During dismissal parents are to wait for the students outside. In order to keep everyone say we ask all parents to wait outside during dismissal time.

Parents all conferences from November 12, 2019 will be held on Monday November 18, 2019 at the same time your were originally scheduled. Please contact me if you have questions.

All students are expected to wait in their designated classroom lines outside each morning as well. Students will not be allowed to wait inside the school unless there are extreme temperatures or rain.

As the temperatures continue to drop, please have students dress accordingly; especially for recess time. Students do go outside unless it is raining or there are extreme temperatures (feels like 20 degrees or colder). Be sure your child wears a warm winter coat, hat , and gloves.
