Winter Festival

Our 4th annual Winter Festival is set for January 30, 2020. Tickets will be going on sale soon. Watch for a flyer to come home by the end of this week. Due to the number of students this event is only for River Oaks families. Sorry no other relatives may attend this event.

Weather Guidelines

The guidelines we use to determine if students will go outside for recess or line up inside for arrival are a combined temperature and wind chill of below 20 degrees. Therefore, if the weather is below 20 degrees, students will remain inside for recess. Please remember to always dress appropriately for the weather; students will need coats/jackets, snow pants, boots, hats, scarves, and gloves to ensure their safety and well-being when we have outdoor recess!

NWEA

NWEA testing has begun. We will start this week with testing as it has to be done by the end of the month. Please encourage your child to get a good night’s rest, eat a healthy meal, and try their best. This can be a stressful time for students but I know each child can do their best if they are willing to stay focused and try.

Gingerbread Houses

As of right now we have received one box of graham crackers and two tubs of frosting. This is not enough to construct gingerbread houses for all students. We have enough decorations. If more graham crackers and frosting tubs are not brought in we will sadly not be able to make our houses. Please, if you can send in graham crackers and frosting.
