Hope everyone had a nice and relaxing break. It is so nice to see the kids again!
Today is Bilal’s birthday and his family is bringing pizza in for lunch. If your child’s lunch comes back home, this is the reason.
Looking ahead in January. We have a half day on Friday, January 17. There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 20. There is another half day on Tuesday, January 21. On Friday, January 31 THERE WILL BE NO PRESCHOOL. We will be holding conferences with all of you. This is only for preschool, the rest of the school will be in session. We will be having a sign-up sheet soon. Conferences are 15 minutes each. Please mark your calendars with all these important dates.
Thank you so much for all your generous gifts. We are truly touched by the kindness of each and every one of you! Wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday break. We will see everyone January 6. Stay safe and enjoy!
Friday is the school holiday sing a long and our movie day.
Friday we will also have library. However, there will be no check outs that day. Please return all books. Several of you will be getting a note home today that tells you what book your child has not returned. Please return A.S.A.P.
Today your child will be bringing home their gift from us. Please note that the snowman is made from a Hershey chocolate bar and a pair of gloves. (Just in case you don’t want your child eating the chocolate right away) 🙂
Spirit week is this week. Some children did “Dress to Impress” theme. Tomorrow is winter wonderland white out. The children are supposed to wear white. Wednesday is twin day. Thursday is PJ day. The school’s girl scout troop is also looking for new pajamas or a monetary donation on PJ day. Friday is wear red or green. Children may also wear holiday hats or headbands.
Wednesday is a late start. This is totally up to you, since no one will be marked tardy that day.
Thursday is craft day. Again a big thank you to Arlo Graham and Asinat’s families. It is still not to late to help out with a craft. Crafts may be purchased at Michael’s, Jo Ann’s or Dollar stores. Please let us know if you can help!
Friday is movie day. This will take place after the holiday sing a long at 9:00. Thank you to Bilal’s family for providing the popcorn and juice boxes. This is also the last day of school until January 6. Friday is also the day ALL LOCKERS must be totally cleaned out. Please help us make sure your child has brought everything home from their locker.
Your child will be bringing home their holiday gift for you. They are NOT dishwasher safe. We hope you all enjoy them!
We will see everyone at Cranbrook tomorrow morning. This should be a fun field trip.
Next Wednesday, December 18 is a late start day. Remember it is always your choice.
Next Thursday, is our craft party. We still only have 2 crafts.
Next Friday is our Holiday Sing Along with the rest of the school. This is at 9:00. Parents are invited to come, however it is not mandatory. We will also have movie day with popcorn and juice boxes provided by Bilal’s family.
Thank you to Bilal’s mom who is providing the popcorn and juice boxes for movie day. We are still in need of another volunteer to provide and make a craft with the kids on Thursday, December 19. Thanks again to Arlo Graham’s and Asinat’s families for doing it.
Today, your child previewed the Holiday Boutique. Please return the envelope with cash tomorrow, so that your child may purchase gifts. The children really like to do their own shopping at the Boutique. Many of them were finding things they wanted for themselves. Remember each item costs $2.00. This is one of the most favorite P.T.A. events all year!
Please make sure you are on time tomorrow. We will be previewing the Holiday Boutique at 9 sharp. This is a good chance for your child to purchase gifts for the family. We will be shopping on Wednesday.
We are still looking for one more volunteer to purchase and do a craft with the kids on Thursday, December 19. Also looking for anyone who would like to share an International holiday presentation.
On Friday, December 20, we will be having an all school Holiday Sing at 9. Parents are welcome to attend, but this is not mandatory. We will also be having a movie and popcorn day. If anyone would like to donate popcorn and juice boxes, it would be appreciated.
Friday is our field trip. We will be sending out the last minute details later in the week.
If your child is bringing a lunch that requires a fork, please make sure they have one. We do not have any forks and we bring our own as well. Also please make sure your child is able to open their own containers in their lunch. Remember we are trying to encourage independence.
Scholastic orders are due today. This will ensure delivery for the holidays. Thanks to everyone who has ordered so far.
Thank you to Arlo Graham and Asinat’s families for bringing in and doing a craft with the kids. We only need one more volunteer for Thursday, December 19 from 10-11.
Please check your child’s backpack for $2.This money was extra from our Cranbrook field trip. Each family was refunded the money because for every 5 students there was a free chaperone. Along with the K and 1st grade teachers, we felt this was the fairest way to handle it. Next week, we will be sending home information with details for the field trip.
