Tomorrow is the kindness assembly. It starts at 9:00. Parents are welcome to come, but it is not mandatory. If you do come, please have your child remain with our class. It will be too hard to keep track if everyone is sitting somewhere else. The sale of items made by artisans in Africa starts after the assembly. Your child may also shop before school in Room 126, or after school in the cafeteria.
This Friday, February 14, the children will be passing out valentines to friends. Please have your child sign each valentine themselves. Please do not personalize to any particular child. This may cause hurt feelings plus it is somewhat time consuming for us. You may also bring in treats if you choose, however, they will be sent home with your child. Keep in mind our nut free policy.
There is NO SCHOOL next week for mid-winter break. We hope everyone enjoys the break.
I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful Sunday. It’s giving me Spring fever!
Book club orders are due tomorrow. Please order ASAP so we can get them before the mid winter break.
This Wednesday, February 5 is a late start day.
Friday, February 14 is Valentines Day. We have 13 children. Please bring in one for each child, and have your child sign the Valentine their self. This is a good way to practice penmanship. You may bring in treats to pass, but please make sure to adhere to our no nuts policy. We can not accept anything without a label either. This includes homemade and bakery goodies. This is life threatening, and we appreciate your cooperation.
Mid winter break is Monday, February 17 thru Friday, February 21. NO SCHOOL all week.
Lastly, we enjoyed conferencing with all of you. It gives us more insight into the children, and we get to know you better.
Please remember there is no school tomorrow, due to conferences. Please be courteous with your 15 minute slot. We try to keep on schedule with no one waiting for their appointment. If you can not make it, please call or email. We can always reschedule. We can also extend the conference to another time, if you feel 15 minutes is not enough. Thank you in advance for your cooperation! Have a great Thursday!
Your child will be bringing home a progress report today. We are looking forward to conferencing with everyone on Friday. This is a good time to ask questions about the reports.
Your child will also be bringing home a Scholastic Book Club order. The orders are due next Monday, February 3. This should be good in time for Valentine’s Day and mid winter break.
The rule is we go outside if the “real feel” is 20 and above. We have not reached that temp this week until today. We were unable to go outside because too many children did not have their boots. Please remember to have your children dress in winter gear. It is good for all of us to go outside for fresh air. Plus they have so much fun in the snow with their friends.
Next Friday, there is NO PRESCHOOL due to conferences. We will be sending home progress reports next week before conferences.
This Friday, January 17 is a half day. Please pick your child up no later than 11:45. Monday, January 20 there is NO SCHOOL. Tuesday, January 21 is also a half day.
If you have not already done so, please sign up for a conference on Friday, January 31. If you can not make the date/time, we can either reschedule or do a phone conference. If you are choosing a phone conference on that day, please indicate next to your name. Progress reports will be sent home before conferences. You can prepare with any questions you may have using the report.
The conference sheet has been posted on the bulletin board in the hall. The date is Friday, January 31. There is NO SCHOOL for preschool that day. If you can not make it, we can always do it over the phone. Please indicate if it will be a phone conference when you sign up. Tomorrow will be the only Friday folder in January. This is because we will be working on progress reports for conferences.
REMINDERS:
Hopefully, everyone brought back extra clothing after the break. Your child may not necessarily have a bathroom accident but a spill of some sort and will need a change of clothes. Please remember to bring the clothes in a zip lock with the child’s name.
Please try to get here on time. Many children are coming late and missing important lessons. This is also disruptive to the class. We certainly understand it happening due to unforeseen circumstances, however, some are late quite often.
Also, when your child is absent, please make sure you email a teacher or call.
Parents are NOT allowed in the hallway, especially assisting children at lockers. All the children know how to take care of their belongings. This is a rule for the whole school.
Next Friday, January 17 is a half day. Monday, January 20 is a full day off, and Tuesday, January 21 is another half day. Remember you must pick your child up no later than 11:45 on half days.
This coming Monday, January 13 we will be celebrating Andrea’s and Mia’s birthdays. Both of their families will be providing a pizza lunch and goodies. Please DO NOT pack lunch for that day.
