We have had a lot of illness in our classroom lately. Thank you to everyone who called or emailed to give us the information regarding your sick child. We really appreciate when we are notified regardless if your child is sick or you need them to be out for other personal reason. Also your child may not come to school if they were running a temp or vomiting 24 hours prior. Please keep them home since we all want a healthy classroom.
Scholastic Book Club orders are due tomorrow. Please take time with your child to order some books. There are a lot of great selections!
Tomorrow your child will be bringing home the first Friday folder. This folder informs you of weekly progress with Math, Language and Behavior. On the behavior portion every child starts out with a check. They can either stay the same or move up with a check plus or down with a check minus. So this week all children will be getting checks. Friday folders may not go out every single week, especially the last week of every month due to reports the teachers have to do. A short week is also another reason you may not get a Friday folder. Please sign the paper inside the folder and return every Monday. You will not be able to see your child’s progress if you do not return the folders.
Tomorrow your child will be checking out a book from our classroom library. We will stress the importance of taking care of a library book, and returning library books on time. Library books will be due back every Friday in order for your child to check out another one.

Don’t forget tomorrow night is the skating party at Lincoln Park Skating Center. It is from 6-8 p.m. All are welcome to attend!

Tomorrow is a late start day. School will be an hour later for the rest of the school. Preschool does not participate, however if you have an older child starting later we understand. No one will be marked tardy, this is your choice.
We are still missing a lot of “All About Me” sheets. This is very important for our Star of the Week book. Star of the Week starts Monday. It will be very sad if not all of the classmates are in the book. Please turn the sheet in asap.

Our apologies there are two different dates regarding the due date for the field trip. The correct date is September 28. Sorry about that!
Today your child will be bringing home a permission slip for our field trip to Debucks Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze. It is on Friday, October 5, and our most popular trip of the year! You don’t want to miss it! Siblings and other family members are welcome! Please make sure you return permission slip and CASH by September 21. We will not be accepting any more after this time, since Debucks needs an accurate count.
Your child will also be bringing home a Scholastic Book Club flyer. Unfortunately, the September fliers are being sent late. Please make sure to also look over the other fliers with your child online. Recommended ones are See Saw, Fire Fly, and Early Childhood. Please use code: MQBNV when ordering. This is my code and our classroom will be given credit for your order. We receive many free books and items for our classroom with these credits. I do not accept cash or checks. This is online ordering only. This is a great way for you and your child to enjoy reading together! This month’s order is due this Friday, September 21.
Wednesday is a late start. This is totally up to you if you come in later due to having an older sibling. No one will be marked tardy that day.

Next Wednesday, September 19 is a late start. Although, we do not participate in late start, your child will not be marked tardy on that day. We understand if you have an older sibling that will be starting late. The choice is up to you.
