Tomorrow is library. I am so glad that some of the children have returned books, and can check one out tomorrow.
The Monster Mash dance is from 6-8 tomorrow night.
Thanks again to Jack’s, Ana’s, Farah’s, and Tala’s moms for coming in next Wednesday from 9-10 for our Fall Harvest Celebration. They will be providing a craft and doing it with the children. Later in the day we will attend the Fall Harvest Party in the gym sponsored by Mr. Borg. This will be from 12:15-1:00. If you would like to volunteer for this simply show up in the gym. I suggest going around noon. Also that day the kids can bring in a small treat to place in a bag for each child. Please make sure you have 18. We are asking that there be NO CUPCAKES, COOKIES, etc. It’s is very time consuming to bag them all and send them home. We already have snack coming in that day that is “Halloween themed”. Please remember NO COSTUMES. Have your child wear Halloween colors to get in the spirit! This should be a very fun day!
Looking ahead…
Friday, November 2 is a half day. Your child needs to be picked up by 11:45.
.We are very pleased with the turn out for our field trip. This is on Monday, November 5. We will see you there by 9:45.
We will be asking for pie pumpkins for a special project we will be doing for Thanksgiving. Again, we will be needing at least 18.
Several people have asked about our Thanksgiving celebration on November 16. We will be learning about giving thanks and sharing with friends and family. This is why we are asking everyone for a dish to pass. The items listed are suggested items. If you would like to bring in something different that is fine too. Please plan on attending the celebration or having someone attend for your child.
As you can see, we have a lot of busy, fun-filled events ahead.
Please remember field trip permission slips and money are due tomorrow.
We have noticed lots of children are not returning their library books. They get sad when they realize they may not check a book out until they return one. These books are due back every Friday. Please make sure your child returns the book.
Monster Mash dance is this Friday from 6-8.
Thanks to everyone who has already signed up for the Thanksgiving celebration.
On Friday, November 16 from 2:00-3:00 we will be celebrating Thanksgiving as a class. This will be held in the cafeteria. There will be a short performance by the children followed by sharing food. There is a sheet posted on our bulletin board to sign up to bring a dish to pass. Please be specific when you sign up. Also, please try to make sure there is at least one adult in attendance with your child. Children often get sad when there is something special and no one is there for them. We are looking forward to this fun event!
Tomorrow is picture day. It is also Julia’s birthday celebration. Please remember to NOT pack a lunch tomorrow, since the children will be enjoying pizza.
Next week is the “Monster Mash Dance” held from 6:00-8:00. This is a very fun event for the children. If you are free next Friday night try to attend with your child.
Today your child will be bringing home a permission slip for our next field trip. The trip is to Lego Land and Sea Life Aquarium at Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Hills. This trip is Monday, November 5. We were fortunate to get a great discount on this trip. Normally, it would cost one adult with a child $94 to visit the two places. One adult and one child will be a total of $36. We could not pass up this amazing opportunity! Please turn in your permission slip and CASH as soon as possible. There are many educational experiences with this trip. Hope we can have 100% attendance like we did for the pumpkin patch.
Friday is picture day. Friday is also Julia’s birthday with a pizza lunch.
Please remember if your child will not be in school to call them in. Especially if they have an illness that is contagious. Ms. Stephanie needs to report this to the state on a weekly basis. Also your child must be fever free for 24 hours before they return to school. We all need to focus on keeping everyone healthy during the crazy up and down temperatures we have been having.
We have noticed some children are walking in with their breakfast. Please make sure your child eats at home. This is a big distraction for all. If they are not hungry by the time you leave, keep in mind snack is offered within a half hour upon arrival. Thanks for your cooperation in this matter.
This Tuesday, October 16 the Green Team will have their first fundraiser of the year. This is a group of 4th and 5th graders led by Mrs. Keebler (3rd grade teacher) to make sure our school is green. They are fundraising for a Monarch Butterfly Waylay Station. This is a butterfly garden with milkweed plants that will be on the school property. This garden will provide the monarchs a home until they take flight to Mexico. They are asking that we purchase milkweed seeds so that we may attract them to our homes. Besides the seeds they will be selling crayons in fun shapes (they have been recycled) and baked goods. I am very excited about the butterfly project since I also am a fan of butterflies. Please consider purchasing seeds, crayons, or baked goods after school on Tuesday. They are also looking for baked good donations.
Wednesday will be a late start day. As always this will be your choice and no one in preschool will be marked tardy.
This Friday, October 19 is picture day. The easiest way to order your child’s pictures is online. Once you do so, you will be given an option to also purchase a yearbook for $9.00.
Also this Friday we will be celebrating Julia’s birthday with a pizza lunch and cupcakes. Please DO NOT pack a lunch on Friday, since Julia’s parents will be providing the pizza.
Thanks for everyone who ordered from Scholastic. Unfortunately, we did not meet our goal this time. I will leave it open until 10 a.m. this morning in case anyone forgot.
The Fall Harvest Party in the gym will be held from 12:15-1:00 for preschool. Johnny Borg our gym teacher is looking for parent volunteers to help run a station. If you are interested in helping him, just show up on October 31 around noon. He would very much appreciate it!
Next week there will be a late start on Wednesday, October 17. Again, this is a choice and no one will be marked tardy for that day.
Fall pictures are next Friday. The best way to order is online.
There will be a P.T.A. sponsored popcorn sale tomorrow. A small envelope is coming home today to purchase the bag for $1.00. If you would like your child to buy popcorn please bring the envelope and money back tomorrow. Have you joined P.T.A. yet?
