Book club orders are due today. Remember you are not limited to the flyers that were sent home. Lots of cute Valentine books. Thank you if you have already ordered!
Tomorrow there is NO PRESCHOOL. Please be on time for your conference. We have a jam packed day, and will not be able to accommodate any one running late. We will have to reschedule your conference if that’s the case. Thanks for understanding and being courteous to other parents.
There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday. Tuesday is a half day and your child must be picked up by 11:45.

Thanks everyone for signing up for conferences. We are looking forward to speaking with each and every one of you. Please remember that although the rest of our school has half day, we will not have class.
This Monday, January 14 is Layla’s birthday, we will be celebrating with a pizza lunch. Please DO NOT pack lunch for that day.
Scholastic orders are due Thursday, January 17. There are cute Valentine selections, if you are interested in ordering.
There is NO SCHOOL Monday, January 21 due to the MLK holiday.
On Tuesday, January 22 there is a half day. Your child needs to be picked up by 11:45.

Parent -Teacher Conferences

Friday, January 18 there will be NO SCHOOL for preschool. The rest of the school has a half day. This is the day we will be doing parent-teacher conferences. There is a sign up sheet on our bulletin board. Please make sure to sign for a time. Since we are working on report cards there will be no Friday folders for a couple of weeks. If the times or date is not good for you, please see a teacher so that we can arrange something. Also on Monday, January 21 there is NO SCHOOL for ML King day. On Tuesday, January 22 there is a half day. Make sure your child is picked up by 11:45 on that day.

It is so nice to see all of you. Hope you all had a relaxing break. So sorry about the last minute notice. Bilal C will be celebrating his birthday with a pizza lunch. Your child will be bringing home their lunches today and hopefully they can use them tomorrow. Again, I am so sorry for last minute notice.

Yesterday we gave the children snowmen books for a holiday gift. Someone forgot theirs. If your child did not get one, please let us know.
Also, please remind your child that we DO NOT share lunches. We had a parent tell us yesterday that their child comes home all the time with things in their lunch that they did not pack. She said one time she even had a plastic container. We will also be informing the lunch ladies to keep a close eye on this.
Tomorrow is our holiday celebration from 9-10. Thursday we will be attending the holiday sing a long. Friday we will be watching Polar Express. What a busy week we have planned!

Thank you to Ana’s dad who took the last spot for the holiday craft day. We really appreciate everyone who has volunteered.
Reminder—Please do not cross the line to come over to help your child to their locker. Every child knows how to get themselves ready for class, and can do it at the end of the day, recess, etc. We have been receiving a lot of complaints of having parents in the hallways. This includes helping them to their lockers. Also please share this info with anyone who drops off or picks up your child. You may leave as well once your child is signed in…again please share the information.
Another thing that needs to be shared is if your child has an older sibling. If you pick up your child before elementary school gets dismissed, please wait again at the end of the hallway. We have been getting complaints from other teachers about class being interrupted to pick up the older sibling. They are more strict about dismissal time, and they will be released at 3:35. Please have consideration and patience regarding this.
Again, please make sure other family or friends know the rules regarding being in the hallway. Not only do we appreciate you following the rules, the other teachers do too.

Holiday Shop

Today is the last day for the Holiday Boutique. Your child will be able to purchase from 1:30-3:00 today.
Thanks to Noah’s dad, Julia’s dad, and Jenna’s mom for volunteering a holiday presentation. If you are interested let me know. The children really love hearing about different cultures and celebrations. They also love when a parent volunteers in our classroom.
If you would like to purchase and do a craft next Wednesday, we will take one more person.
