Tomorrow is the first day of school!

Tomorrow we will be greeting you at 8:35 at the doors near the playground. School starts promptly at 8:40. As we discussed at orientation, please park in a spot, so as not to block traffic. Walk your child to the door, initial the sign in sheet, and try to leave as soon as possible. If you linger, it is harder on you and your child. Your child must be picked up tomorrow no later than 11:45. Please repeat parking in spot, etc. as you did in the morning.

Tuesday will be a regular day. Make sure your child has a lunch box with their name on it. Please be respectful of our NUT FREE classroom. Snacks will be provided by all parents 10 times during the school year. There is a sign up sheet outside the classroom door. Include your child’s birthday as one of your 10 times. Make sure to read labels when providing snack. Any snacks with nuts or traces of nuts will be sent home! Also on Tuesday we will have our first rest time. Please provide a crib sized sheet or beach towel and a blanket. Please no stuffed animals or pillows. Make sure the rest items are in a sturdy bag marked with your child’s name. These will be sent home Thursday (normally Friday). Return the items on Tuesday (normally Monday). We have a 4 day weekend due to the Labor Day weekend.

Lastly, all paperwork especially child info card, is due tomorrow. All school supplies are due as well. If you need the list of supplies, it was posted on this blog.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow and a great school year!

Montessori Preschool Orientation

Our Parent Orientation will be Thursday, August 22 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. It will take place in the cafeteria. Your child may come, however this meeting is for your questions and basic classroom information. You may also bring in your supplies that night along with any paperwork. Supplies and paperwork are due the first day of school.

There are still several people who have not subscribed to my blog. Please remind any spouses or family members to do so. I have sent out numerous reminder emails. This is very important because it is the main way we communicate with you throughout the year.

We still have openings in our program. If you have a friend or family member interested in Montessori Preschool, have them call 313-827-8350.

Last blog of the year!

What a wonderful yet bittersweet day it has been! Saying goodbye is never easy when they have been “our kids” all year.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you for sharing your kids. They were truly an awesome group. Each one of them always made me smile, and has a special place in my heart.  Even today I found myself bragging to another teacher how well behaved they were at assemblies.

We will miss the kids moving on to different schools. Wishing those families the best of luck. Please keep our emails to keep in touch, or stop in to say hi.

To the families remaining with us or moving on to K, we look forward to seeing you in August.

I would also like to thank everyone for their kind words and gifts. It is very much appreciated.

Last I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe summer.

It’s been a pleasure….❤️

Reminders

Hello,

Tomorrow we will be meeting everyone at the zoo. We will see you by the ticket gate. The weather looks promising.

However, Thursday, it looks like rain is in the forecast all day. This is our picnic day. Chances are we will be having the picnic inside. The picnic is scheduled for 11, but the kids have a song they would like to sing in our classroom first. Please try to be here by 10:45. It would be nice if each child had someone attend. Children get very sad when an event likes this happens and no one is there for them. Remember this is a potluck. Bring your own drinks and serving utensils for your dish. If by some chance the day is nice and it is held outside, bring your own chair please.

Friday is our last day, and a half day. You must pick up your child no later than 11:45.

Have a great day!

Reminder

Today is the last Michigan day. Please make sure your child has a show and tell.

We have an assembly at 9:00 this morning. If you are running late, you must sign in at the front office, and walk your child to the gym.

Later today, we will be attending the Honor’s Choir musical. This is at 2:40. If you plan on picking your child up early, you must pick them up in the gym.

Friday all library books are due. There will be NO MORE check outs. Please look around your home for any books.

We are still in need of a couple snacks to get us through the end of the year. If you have not done 10 this year, please sign up to bring one.

There is NO SCHOOL next week, June 4,5, and 6. Enjoy the time off with your family.

Have a great day!

Reminder

Tomorrow is our last Michigan day. Please make sure your child brings in a Michigan show and tell.

If anyone would like to bring snack (especially if you have not contributed 10 times) we need it for tomorrow and Thursday. Thank you very much!

Good Morning

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Wow, I can’t believe it is almost June. The next couple of weeks are going to be very busy, as we do end of the year activities.

Tomorrow, please make sure you are on time. We have an assembly in the gym at 9:00. Otherwise, you will have to walk your child down to the gym and check in at the front office. We will also be attending the Honor’s Choir musical later in the afternoon. If you would like to see the performance there is another one at 4:00 for parents and public in the gym. Also your child will have hearing tested by Wayne County Health Department either tomorrow or Thursday.

Have a great Tuesday!
