Remember that tomorrow is a half day. Your child MUST be picked up at 11:45.
Tomorrow is also the last day to order books from Scholastic. Thank you to everyone who has already done so. This helps builds our classroom library. It is also fun to let your child pick out books that interests them. They are also such a great value!
Your child will be bringing home a permission slip for our first field trip. We will be attending Plymouth Orchards on October 18. Every child must have an adult in attendance. You must provide your own transportation, since preschool can not get buses. We will be going with the kindergarten and 1st grade classes. This is always a fun time! We are hoping to have 100% attendance.
Today your child will be bringing home “All About Me” sheet. Please fill out and return this sheet as soon as possible. This will be shared in our “Star of the Week” book. Each child will be getting a turn as the star in our classroom. What does this mean? Your child will get the book on a Friday. They will return the book the next Friday morning, so as to give it to the next star. The star gets to bring in a “show and tell” everyday, and gets special jobs in our classroom such as line leader. When it is your child’s turn, you need to bring in a poster board with different photos from the child’s life. You may do different time periods, your child with family members, and/or pets etc. I will inform you ahead of time when it will be your child’s week, so you can get things ready. I want to start this in October, so please return the sheet soon.
Please make sure that you are on time tomorrow. There is a fire drill at 9 A.M. and you will not be able to enter if you are running late. We will be talking to the children about the drill when they get here. That way they will not be surprised or scared when the alarm sounds.
Book orders are due Friday and it is also a half day. Please make sure your child is picked up by 11:45.
This Friday, September 20 we have a half day. Your child MUST be picked up by 11:45, or charges will start occurring. Scholastic Book Club orders are also due on that day. Please make sure to order books using the code on the back of the flyer.
Next Wednesday, September 25 is a late start day. It is totally up to you if you would like to bring in your child an hour later. We understand that some of you have older children that start an hour later, and it would be frustrating to make extra trips back and forth. Regardless, we will be here at 8:40. No one will be tardy that day no matter which time you decide to come in.
Today your child will be bringing home a Scholastic Book Club order form. When you place an order it benefits our classroom by helping build the classroom library. There are always good deals and the children love getting the books. You may order (ONLINE ONLY) by putting in the code on the back of the form. This way your order is sent directly to me, which credits our classroom. You are not limited to just the Inchworm flyer. These orders are due next Friday, September 20. Please take a moment this weekend with your child, to see if there is anything you like.
We have noticed that some parents are still walking children to lockers and helping them put things away, taking their coats off, etc. The children are doing these things for themselves during the day. Please help promote their independence along with us. We are proud of how far they have come. Plus we have been asked that parents stay out of the hallways. Once you have signed in your child remember to leave quickly.
Thank you to the parents who signed up for additional snacks. We appreciate it so much!
Please make sure your child has rest items tomorrow. We are still waiting for missing paperwork. Also if you have not brought in supplies, please remember to do so.
The children were able to work a little in the classroom last week. We are still in the process of ground rules. However, we will start accessing this week.
Your children have been awesome. We are so impressed with their manners. Give yourselves credit!
We are still in need of snack. We have spots open for the next couple of weeks. Please help us out, especially if you have not signed up for 10 times. Once we get stocked up, we should be fine. We truly appreciate anyone who would like to help.
Reminder: Please be in school at 8:35. It is crucial since we are now presenting lessons to the children. Your child will miss out on these important presentations if you are tardy. Being tardy is also disruptive not only to the teacher presenting but to the other children.
Please turn in your forms regarding translations. Any other paperwork that you have missing is due now.
We have openings in our classroom, if you have family or friends that would like our preschool, please send them in.
I hope everyone had a great weekend. It sure went fast.
Please remember to bring in your child’s rest items, any paperwork, and school supplies.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) the rest of our school will have an Open House. We do not participate since we have already had the Parent Orientation meeting. However, the PTA will have the first meeting in the cafeteria at 7:00. Please consider attending and becoming a member. The PTA provides many things to our school. We attend assemblies, the book fairs, and benefit from lots of programs. Even if you can not volunteer your time, please join. We would like to get representation from preschool.
There will be no school tomorrow, Friday, August 30 or Monday, September 2. We will see you Tuesday, September 3. We will be sending home rest items today to be washed. Please return these on Tuesday.
Thank you everyone for dropping your child off quickly. The children have done a great job coming in and taking care of their belongings. It really is thanks to all of you for not lingering!
Please remember to sign up for snack 10 times throughout the school year. Next week we have no one who signed up. So that would be a great start if anyone has not done so yet. Also if you have not brought in supplies please remember to do so.
Our first full day went very well. The children seem to be adjusting well, and catching on quickly. Just a reminder that we will be talking about ground rules before we do any assessments. This is extremely important as it sets the tone for the school year. We will make the decision to assess when we are 100% sure they know the rules. This varies every year, but I’m confident with this class it will happen very soon.
Thank you to everyone who signed their chid in and exited quickly. This not only helps the child saying goodbye, but the parking situation. Parents should not be in the hall or walking children to their lockers. This is not only for safety reasons, but we are trying to foster independence. One of us will always be greeting you, while the other teacher is guiding the children to take care of their belongings. You will be amazed at how your children can take care of this themselves.
Please make sure any paperwork is handed directly to a teacher. We do not go through backpacks. If there is a change of clothes, please make sure we know. We will have your child place it on the top shelf of their locker.
Please make sure to remind spouse, grandparent, etc. to sign up for the blog. There are a few who I am still waiting for.
