Tomorrow will be a very busy day. Please be on time, since a tornado drill will be conducted in the morning. If you are not on time, you will be locked out of the building until the drill is over.
Picture day is also tomorrow. The easiest way to order pictures is online. This way you will not need to deal with sending in the money or the forms.
Tomorrow night is the Monster Mash from 6-8. This is a very fun all school event. Please try to attend.
We would like to suggest that parents be working at home with pencil control, having your child write their name, and learning how to use scissors. Please purchase a child sized pair of scissors if you don’t have any.
The due date for forms for Family Engineering Night have been extended until Wednesday. This fun family night is only $6 per person. There are lots of Halloween themed activities and prizes for the best designs. There will also be baked goods and spooky writing kits for sale. It is next Tuesday, October 29 from 6:30-8:00.
Today the health department will be in to screen hearing.

Friday is picture day. Flyers are going home today. The easiest way to order your school pictures is online. It’s very simple!
Friday is also the Monster Mash from 6-8. This is always a fun night at our school. There is music, dancing, and games. Pizza chips, desserts, and drinks will be available for purchase. P.T.A. is also looking for help at this event. Consider bringing your child to this fun filled night.
Thanks again to Bowie’s, Leila’s, and Andrea’s families for volunteering to purchase and make crafts with the children on October 31. We really appreciate it. Before crafts, we will be attending a party in the gym. The gym teacher is also looking for help with his party. Simply show up the day of the party and go down to the gym.
We are happy to say we have three families that volunteered for our craft party. It is so appreciated. If you missed this chance, you may volunteer in December for our Winter Celebration. Please let me know, if you would like to be one of the three. Otherwise, there are still opportunities to run games at the party earlier that day in the gym. Also PTA is looking for people to help at the Monster Mash on the 25th. Have a great day!

Friday is our field trip.
P.T.A. is asking for volunteers to help with the party on Friday, October 25. The gym teacher is asking for volunteers for Thursday, October 31 to run the games. We also have had no one sign up to bring in and run a simple craft for Thursday, October 31 from 10:20-11:20 in our classroom. We need 3 parents to volunteer for that. Please think about helping out with one or all of those events. It would be greatly appreciated!
I forgot to mention in my previous post that your child will be bringing home a Friday folder today. We aim to send these home once a week throughout the school year. However, there may be situations you may not receive them. Usually, the last week of the month you will not get one, due to reports we need to do. The first folder everyone will get just a check for behavior, effort, and work. As time goes on this may still remain a check, or check plus, or check minus. We ask that you sign on the signature line, and return every Monday. It is important to return the folders, so you will get the next weekly report.
Please remember library books are due back on Fridays. Several children did not return their book, and will not be getting a new one today. Please help your child be responsible for taking care of and remembering to return the books.
Just a reminder that tomorrow is a half day. Your child needs to be picked up no later than 11:45.
Next Wednesday, October 16 is a late start. Remember the choice is yours. It is also the day Spirit Wear is money is due. These are great shirts to wear on Fridays, field trips, spirit week, etc. I am waiting for a response from P.T.A. for a size chart. I will let you know when I hear something.
Next Friday is our field trip. Please let us know if you will be meeting us at the orchard.
Tuesday, October 22 is the hearing screening. The Wayne County Health Department will be checking each child.
Friday, October 25 is picture day.
On Thursday, October 31 we will have our Fall Harvest Celebration. It will start with a party that the gym teacher hosts. It will be from 9:35-10:00. We will be participating with K-2. Mr. Borg, the gym teacher is looking for parent volunteers to run the games. If you have some extra time that day, please volunteer for this fun event. We will be celebrating in our class from 10:20-11:20. We will be needing 3 parents to provide and run a simple craft for our 12 children. These crafts can be purchased at Michael’s, Joanne’s, Target, dollar stores, etc. The first 3 parents to let me know will be the ones to have the opportunity. If you miss this chance, we will be doing it again in December. Thanks in advance to volunteers. We will also allow the children to pass out treats for Halloween. Before the party, we will have children make bags for their goodies. Please remember NO NUTS for the treats. This is very serious for this child, and will not be tolerated in our classroom.
