Field Trip money is due TOMORROW. We need to have a final count and to know if you will be meeting us there or bringing your child to school until 9:30 that day. Please let us know asap. Tonight is Open House for the rest of the school. We had Parent Orientation so we will not be there tonight. However, we are hoping some of you can attend the P.T.A. meeting at 7:00. It would be great to have a strong Preschool representation. Have a good Tuesday!

Happy Sunday! Last week we were able to access the children on holding a pencil properly, writing their name, cutting, and gluing skills. If you are working on name writing at home, please make sure your child is not using all upper case letters. We continued working on ground rules and having children learn to do things for themselves. The children have such a sense of pride when they accomplish a task. You can work at this at home by encouraging self care, or giving them small jobs such as setting a table. It may not be perfect but they did it! *The first couple weeks of school may seem challenging to children and parents. When teachers and parents works together, your child will become more successful! Have your child understand that they are in a safe place, and you will always return for them. * This coming week we are planning on starting presentations and individual lessons. Work will start slowly filling our shelves, giving the children more choices as the grow and learn. * REMINDERS: Scholastic book orders are due tomorrow. You are not limited to the fliers that were sent home. Take time to browse the website for other age appropriate books. * Field trip money is due this Wednesday. Looking forward to a great week ahead!

Reminders: Scholastic Book Club orders are due this Monday, September 18. It is easy to order on line. Make sure you use the class code so that our classroom gets credit. Field trip money is due next Wednesday, September 20. Remember you need to pay for yourself and your child. Other family members are also welcome! Your child needs to be picked up at 9:30 the day of the trip. Our tour begins promptly at 10:30. If you prefer you may meet us there. However, we need to know ahead of time. Also if you and your child will not be attending this field trip, we need to know as well. Have a great weekend!

Thank you to everyone for getting your children here on time. This really makes a difference for all of us. Your child doesn’t miss important presentations, and the other children are not distracted by late arrivals. Kudos to all of you. If your child is sick or can not attend please make sure you call them in with the reason. Our direct number is: 313-827-7686. We may not answer, but I do check the voice mail throughout the day.

Good Morning! Today your child will be bringing home a permission slip for our field trip to Debuck’s Pumpkin Patch. You MUST accompany your child on this trip and provide your own transportation. Please sign and return by next Wednesday, September 20. Also your child will be bringing home the first Scholastic Book Club order. You may only order online. The code you use for our class to get credit is located on the back of the form. Ordering online is easier since I do not take cash for orders and the order comes faster. This order is due on September 18. Please take a look and order since this benefits our class building our library. Have a great Monday!

Happy Friday! We will be sending home rest items today. These should be laundered and returned on Monday. Please have your child finish breakfast at home, or in your car. No worries that your child will be hungry. Morning snack is always around 9:15-9:30. They eat lunch around 11:00. Some of you are concerned that your child is not finishing their lunch. Remember your child is in a new environment and needs to get used to the new schedule. Also make sure you are not “overpacking”. Your child will eat morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack. We can encourage your child to eat, but we can not force them. We DO NOT allow: pull-ups, pacifiers, bottles, and sippy cups. If your child uses these things at home, please work on breaking free of these items. Remember our common goal with you is independence. Have a great weekend!

Thank you to everyone this morning for understanding drop off. It is best to sign your child in and leave. Parents should not be in the building for security reasons. Plus it makes transition easier for your child. Thanks again for your understanding. We would also like to remind you there is NO NUTS in our classroom. This includes in your child’s lunch. This is a matter of life and death for a couple of our children. Products with nuts will be sent home.
