Wednesday, December 2 – Library Check-out and Check-in.
Friday, December 4 – Families are invited to attend a Math Workshop in your child’s classroom from 9 am – 11am on Friday. This is an overview for families to learn what your child is doing in math during Math Workshop. More information about this event will go home in your child’s blue folder this week.

Letter of Week – O and P Sight words – in, is, it
Writer’s Workshop – Students will work on narratives in writing. Learn about features of narratives and introducing problem and solution in stories.
Math Workshop – Students will continue working on writing numbers 1-20. Building numbers 1-20 in ten frames and learning about place value – ones and tens place. Practicing counting up to 50 by ones and tens for this card marking. Counting objects in sequence and ordering numbers.
Daily Five – Students will work on reading and writing CVC words, counting syllables in words, adding an (s) to nouns, writing in different ways; lists, labeling, cards, stories. Picking and choosing good fit books for reading to self and someone.
Science – We will work on a new unit Physical Science and start off learning about gravity and the Earth.
Social Studies – We will start a new unit in Social Studies – How do I get what I need and want? Beginning the unit with distinguishing between the terms needs and wants.
Student of the Month for December – Congratulations Rosie Calder!
With the cold weather approaching please make sure you dress your child appropriately for the cold weather; hats, gloves, winter coat, snow pants and boots if needed. Children go out for recess at lunch and later in the afternoon.
