Dates to Remember

Wednesday, May 27 – We will be going on a field trip to the Detroit Zoo. More information will go home in your child’s folder this week. I will need five chaperones for the field trip. So, check your calendar if you can join us at the zoo.

Testing – This week kindergartners will take the NWEA Reading Assessment in the computer lab. Last week, I started DRA reading assessments in class. Hopefully, I will be finished up on reading assessments this week. So, possibly mid-week I will start up reading groups and book bags will go home.

Spring is the time when teachers see so much growth in reading and writing. So, I am very excited to see the growth and progress my classroom has made from the beginning of the year to now.

Spelling words – “ad” family – bad, dad, had      sight words – where, funny

They are predicting temps in the 70’s next week. So, please make sure you dress your child in cool, comfortable clothing. My classroom can get hot and unfortunately we do not have air conditioning.
