Dates to Remember

Wednesday, November 12 – Late Start – School starts one hour later.

Thursday, November 13 – Parent teacher conferences begin this week. I will send home a reminder in your child’s blue folder. If you were unable to sign up for a conference, I will send an appointment card home. The conferences are only 20 minutes long. Please come at your scheduled time. Report cards and NWEA test results will be given out at the conference.

Writing Workshop – Informational writing – All About Turkeys

Math Workshop – Writing numbers – 1-20. Students should be able to count up to 50 by ones for the 2nd quarter. We will practice counting by ones up to 100. Counting by tens up to 100. Counting by fives up to 50. Using a pan balance to compare objects in weight. Using dominoes and comparing numbers along with saying numbers names in order.

Social Studies – Unit Needs and Wants. Distinguishing between goods and services.

Physical Science – Learning concept of gravity, force using scientific principles.

Language Arts – Daily Five – Identifying first sounds in reading/writing, recognizing when two words rhyme, comprehension- retelling stories with a beginning, middle, end and including characters, setting and events. Matching word by word in poetry.
