Peek at the Week:
Letters of the Week – Ww and Xx
Sight words – come (Come and see my house.) and (I like apples and oranges.)
Math – Measurement – comparing lengths of different objects with linking cubes. Comparing weights of different objects using the pan balance.
Social Studies – Learning about goods and services. A person provides a service (teacher, doctor, farmer) and we purchase goods such as; groceries, books, CD’s).
Writing – New informational unit on reindeer. We finished up on our transportation unit and students did a great job writing about where they can go on a plane, boat or in a car. Students have also been practicing writing a sentence or more with sight words we learn for the week on the back of their morning work. We are really working hard to write the sounds we hear in words and forming sentences.
Literacy/Daily Five – Fiction stories on reindeers. Retelling with a beginning, middle and end. Non-fiction text on reindeer – understanding key details, text features.
Have a great weekend!
