Beautiful Weekend!! I hope everyone was able to get out and enjoy it. I enjoyed meeting all of you at Open House on Thursday. I encourage you to also attend the Kindergarten Informational Meeting this Thursday. I look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting!!

Letter of the Week: Letter Dd Sight word review – I, am New Sight word – “at”
Math – Eureka Math
Working with numbers 3,4,5 and finding missing numbers. Continuation of recognizing circular and scattered dot configurations with numbers. Modeling decompositions of 3 with drawings and expressions as 1+2 and 2+1. Understanding the meaning of zero. Write the number zero. Write numerals 1-3. Represent decompositions with drawings, and equations 3=2+1 and 3=1+2. Ordering and writing numerals 4 and 5 to answer how many questions in catergories; sort by count.
Writing – Learning about characters and settings in stories. Working on building stamina in writing.
Reading – Continue building stamina in Read to Self, Work on Writing. Introducing Work on Word and Read to Someone in Daily Five Literacy Block. Modeling working independently in centers and building stamina in work.
Identifying meaning of unfamiliar words, learning about predictions – what happens next in a story.
Science – Learning about force – Identifying items that push and pull. How do things move and what direction using different strengths.
